Depends on my weekends, but weeknights i play about 2 hours. Weekends if i'm home and don't have anything to do, i'll put in another 10 hours total about.

How can you have 60 hrs? ffs thats nuts, I'm not critisising life style, I'm not qualified, but 60 hours? I don't have that much spare time for anything and I'm an insomniac and haven't slept more than 4 hours max in a night for over 35 years. 60 hours is about 9 hours a day (yes I did the maths) how does anyone have 9 spare hours a day?

When i made my "Abitur" in Germany (exam after 13 years school) i played every free second i had. Meant round about 8-10 hours on weekdays and on weekends much longer. Im glad, that this is over, but you see its possible (even, if its not good). Atm i play perhaps half an hour on workdays and when i have a free day 3-4 hours, so i choosed 11-15 hours, some weeks less.

Well, at the moment, Zero. I havent got a game I want to play right now.
When i DO have a game to play, then I put in about 6hrs Mon-Fri combined, and then maybe another 6hrs at the weekend.
If you are doing this for a college paper, then bear in mind that some people will just answer with a rediculous answer (60+ hours) just to be awkward and this will throw any analysis you do off.
The amount people play also changes if a game has just launched. I played about 20 hours in 2 days the weekend SWTOR launched.

This is not a good poll sample to use for a college essay.
It works if he is studying MMORPG.com users... Polling on this site will only study people who play mmorpg's and like to post on forum sites so it won't be an accurate sample for mmorpg players overall. Kind of a weak topic for a college essay anyway, though. And don't base your entire essay on a couple polls or you will fail... I strongly suggest you do some research and find some statistics from other studies (and make sure to cite those studies) rather than trying to create your own statistical data. A sample needs to be large to mean anything and you just aren't going to get that with a poll here.

For me it varies a lot depending on how busy work is and if I have any family obligations. Lately it's been down quite a bit since I can't find anything worth playing past the first hour.

haha, when FFXI was in its glory days, I would get back from school play from 6 in the evening till 2 in the morning and then on the weekends get in around 18hrs/day..
so I would easily get 65-75hrs a week
(I did this for around 4 months, untill I decided school was more important, and so I quite FFXI cold turkey. And honestly I wish I hadn't, because when I returned 3 years later...it wasn't the same game, the magic was gone, and most of the people)

Easy enough to do when it's 5-6 hours a night and 16 hour days on the weekends for folks who work; I know several folks who game all weekend long. I also know a number of folks who are retired, disabled or not working at the moment and for them it is very easy to spend 60 hours a week in game, on vent chatting with friends.
When I was raiding a lot in WoW, I was kind of appalled to discover I was putting more time into the game than I was into my full time job. The only good thing about it was that I wasn't ignoring a SO, child, pet or my job.

Yeah I think the max amount of hours I've ever put in to an MMO in one week was probably around 48-52 hours in EQ2 most of which were on the weekend.

I'd say 1-2 hours a night on weeknights, not all nights, 2-4 on weekend nights when not doing other things with wife..
