I'm trying to envision how playing wow would lead to better carbombing skills. Maybe he played a rogue in Strand of the Ancients?
Wow is violent the same way killing spiders, swatting flies and destroying garden gnome statues is violent. For the most part pve consists of killing oversized insects or strange demonic looking creatures. And for the most part pvp consists of killing gnomes, elves, trolls and ogres. Im pretty sure you would have to be ignorant of games and whats available on the market, to single world of warcraft out as the violent one.
I remember being in highschool when the media broke all these huuhaa news stories about Doom making people violent. It seems we haven t come very far from those days in the early 90s.
What I think always happens in these extreme cases, is the that human nature asserts itself. We can't have things we dont understand, controll or can catagorize around, because those things are frightening. So in the case of Breivik, we even go as far as explain his behaviour with this old fashioned and flawed reasoning, just to make some sense of what happened.
Those of us who have played wow or video games in general, know that you dont go out and murder 77 people because wow took up a lot of your time 5 years ago. - But it would be nice if we didnt have that insight, so that we might explain his behavior and feel better at night for it. Maybe we could even feel we were contributing to safeguarding against such behaviour by restricting access to video games for certain age groups in the future. - there is no reason why we shouldnt travel down that road, if we all encourage that band wagon.
The best way to restrict peoples freedoms, is to make them ask for those restrictions to begin with.

Breivik is just a deranged individual, WoW didn't cause that.

In his testimony, Breivik said he played the computer game "Modern Warfare" for 16 months starting in January 2010, primarily to get a feel for how to use rifle sights.
