But they're forcing you to play it online where lag will be an issue in single player mode, and you are restricted to playing it while attached to an account. For 60 bucks I shouldn't have such restrictions on my single player game...
As for the gameplay, well, it's what a H&S game is...
Get used to it, this is where gaming is going. They are doing this, due to all of the people ripping single player games. If you owned a gaming company and were loosing millions of dollars on your releases, would you A. continue doing the same thing and loose money or B. Force people to create an account and play online in order to try and stop loosing millions of dollars? My answer would be B, yes you may loose some fans, but the profits will more thank make up for it.
I love this piracy argument from DRM apologists. Truth is if you are counting pirated copies as "lost revenue" you are an idiot. Just because someone pirated a copy does not mean they would buy it if they couldnt pirate it. DRM screws the legitimate consumer not the piraters. The sooner you apologists get that through your thick skulls the better. Within a couple months after release you will be able to get a pirated version of D3. If you think otherwise you are dense.
As to the OP though. Most of the "complaints" you are tired of hearing all all over the web, Its hardly restricted to MMORPG.com. Branch out on the forums you visit and you will see there are lots of people that have verry little good to say about the game. Some of it is complete BS I'll grant you that. Such as loot grind, difficulty....stuff like that. Complaining about UI, Combat mechanics, Art style, just not "feeling" like Diablo is all legitimate. Why are they legitimate? They are based on opinions about a hack-n-slash game itself, not complaining about what makes the genra what it is (like loot grind).

I loved D2 and if this game had more to offer than it, I would probably love it too, but it doesn't.
The awesome skill trees and complexity with respect to character skill customization is gone. The gameplay is basically the same with a few hotkeys added and after more than a decade I'm personally bored of that style.
Older gamers like myself who tire quickly of the same old will not like it and this game is the same old.
This is a sequence of characters intended to produce some profound mental effect, but it has failed.
