One Final Iron Man Tournament
So I have this idea to have a final Diablo 2 Iron man tournament to bring in the mood for Diablo 3 
It's simple, on May 2nd when ladder resets, it begins.
All characters MUST be in hardcore ladder
A person can enter in up to two characters for the tournament
Characters will be leveled and geared from May 2nd to May 11th, and on that weekend the tournament will be held.
Duels will be 1 versus 1 or a 7-8 man FFA depending on feedback given.
The prize for this, put up by me, would be a free copy of Diablo III (depending on community feedback)
So there you have it, I would stream this on my channel of course, but I think it would be a ton of fun. I played Diablo 2 off and on for a LONG time and one last go at it before Diablo 3 releases is needed for me.
Please let me know thoughts, here is my Twitch.tv channel if you want to check it out. My leveling and of course the actual tournament would be streamed there for all to see!
I would want a minimum of 50 people to be in the tournament. Also I would need ideas on how to prevent cheating of some sort, be it a screenshot of everyone in game with map on before and after the battle or what?

I've been in beta a while, thats not what the thread is about though!
Sounds like a fun idea.
Not sure how you would prevent cheating tho, with so many hacks available for D2.
Most people would gear up without cheating. Some would just hack god like items onto their character and own everyone who didnt. At least this was the way D2 was years ago when I quit playing ( due to the high amount of hacks).

haha this is not on open bnet, and its not that simple to cheat :P
The only thing I can think is when everyone is dead and the winner for each stage is chosen, they must have their map open for a screenshot. This will at least show if there is a maphack or anything going on. Fail to do that is an immediate DQ no questions asked. no chance to relogin, etc.
Sounds interesting. Good luck setting everything up and finding some solid players.
