Diablo III beta

Darkmax23Darkmax23 Member Posts: 15

Just finished the beta run thru once more and i have to say.....i hadnt done it in about a month or so..but they've definitely increased the difficulty of the last boss on beta since i last played it. When i played it before it took like 30 secs to kill him with barely any damage done to me. This time it was about a 3 or 4 min fight where i had to use mulitple pots. I like what they did......just my thoughts

Took me and 3 others almost 10 minutes on 4 player co-op but we did for for the achievement, we had two deaths.

3-4 mins and multiply pots? o.O

I tried open beta but difficulty was something that was drawing me back a lot. I am aware that there was only Normal difficulty option available and it is a hack & slash but I think if NPC did like 50-100% more damage, it could be more challenging and fun.

2 deaths? Did the guys go afk? Because I do not see any other way how you could die in Open Beta...

I've never liked any of the diablo games, but Diablo 3 was really good. Last boss was easy though, didn't need to use pots. Can't wait for official so then i can try it on harder modes :)

My point is that they drastically increased the difficulty of it since i last played. Alot of peoples complaints its that is was all too easy and i think they're working to get it right. I had MUCH more difficulty fighting this first boss then i did fighting the first main boss on Diablo II...

Took me a cool minute with a monk class to solo the beta boss, was pretty hard, lots of running around to heal.

Did you just do the open beta this weekend or do you have a closed beta key to still play it?

I didn't find any of the beta difficult. I ran through the whole beta without needing to use a heal at all with all the classes. In my book that is just to easy. The boss fight was a joke unless you wenf for the unlock but htat is because of the unlock itself.

I played over the weeked. I played a Monk and Wizard till the last quest and I liked it. I like the game. I never really played Diablo 2 so I  do not know I might be missing, but I like what I played in D3. That's al lI have to say about that.

It's due to the achieve, the boss needs to kill 15 adds, so we have to keep the adds alive and stay by them so the boss teleports to the player/adds and cleaves, but yeah they prob not paying attentions, it was a witch doc and a wizard who died, classes not designed to take melee damage I guess.

I just now beat it thru about an hour ago...i wonder if they increased the difficulty after the open beta was closed this weekend? i just dont see how you could have beat the same last boss that i just killed without using a pot unless they hadnt increased the difficulty yet?

I got that achievement too but still I do not see how you could die...

It is a pity there was no other difficulty available.

It was easy, but then again Act 1 is basically a tutorial act. Also, D3 programmers themselves have said that Nightmare & subsequent difficulties will ramp things up considerably.

Normal is for people who just want to see the story. Anything after that is for people who really want to maximize their characters and challenge themselves.

Also, there were a few times on my wizard that I ran into some nasty teleporting mobs which almost did me in, so there are challenging situations out there even on normal.

Really? My main was a wizard with almost 40dps and i never had a problem with monsters, i 1-4hit most of them and wizards can counter teleporting mobs. Nova and then pulse, takes down all monsters in a certain radius o.o

I played a wizard and tried the witch doctor. Of the two the witch doctor was interesting with very different and fun spells-almost a necromancer.

Also remember that higher diff. levels don't just increase mobs Hit point and Damage but also give them different abilities so Skeleton king on Nightmare might truly be a nightmare.

WHEN I was playing beta about a month or so back, my main gripe with the starter area was the lack of random exploration via caves, tunnels, cellars, or whatnot.

I know the crypts in the cemetary were mostly done, and I LOVED the Jar of Souls encounter, but the random tunnels and cellars that were generated from game to game were not fleshed out.

Did they fix those and populate them?
