For times that i cant get online.
Sadly there is that stupid requirement forcing me to have online acces. Sometimes i work for longer periodes at sea, without notmal internet access, and the game is good enough to warrant some fun hours during my off evenings. Sadly it requires online acces to play the single player part.
So maybe i'll get my hands ontoo a hacked version that allows the single player part to be played offline, remind you that i usually pay for the software that i use extensively.

you'll have torchlight 2.....
With your situation I may have to go the " cracked " route also. It honestly sucks that you cant SP offline mode this game. Thats pretty much the only thing I really dont like.
Or you could bypass D3 and just get TL2 when it releases. None of the drawbacks in TL2, plus its only gonna cost $20.
Agreed with you. I dont know wtf is up with companies requiring online to play offline games. Big pet peeve of mine!
If you're going to require me to play Online in a single player game then by god you better give me persistant FREE updates on DLC's such as Skyrim.
Everything you need to know about Elder Scrolls Online
Playing: GW2
Waiting on: TESO
Next Flop: Planetside 2
Best MMO of all time: Asheron's Call - The first company to recreate AC will be the next greatest MMO.
I fully support the use of "cracked" versions of D3. As soon as it becomes available, that will be the route I'll go. I don't really care about any of the online components of this single-player game.
If Ubisoft can catch hell, and ultimately remove the always-online DRM scheme from their games, Blizz should as well. I don't care what they claim is the rationale behind the move. It's a DRM scheme, plain and simple. And a sorry one at that.
I want a mmorpg where people have gone through misery, have gone through school stuff and actually have had sex even. -sagil
There will never be a cracked version of D3.. the content (not the assets) much like an MMO is server side, mobs spawns, loot, dungeon layouts, event triggers all happen server side. Yes there will be hacks that will let you look around the game but it wont have any NPC's mobs etc.

Its a cell phone game.
IT'd be the perfect game for sitting in an airport terminal waiting to board your flight.
Just wait for Torchlight 2. It's only $20 and will be a better game anyway.
Much more goes on than a keep alive call every few seconds, I was watching a live stream some time ago and well the servers crashed out, the player could move around the dungeon but no new mobs spawned, those already spawned did not react to the player and just stood still and the player could not damnage them, he lotted some book cases and no loot/gold feel out, that tells me the server drives pretty much everything in game, no server no triggers.
Also the game has been in closed beta for over 6 months without an NDA and the client up on torrent sites, if it was possible to hack it to play single player with mobs/loot etc it would have happended by now.
Maybe what you saw where just the preprogrammed effects of loosing your lifeline. I cant imagine they put all AI on the server side, that would be such a hige waste of resources.
And about the hacking, if i hacked the beta, i would certainly not make it public, because it will be repaired before release. I would wayt till the game releases an publish my hack then.
Well anyway, seems these are all just assuptions and we will not know ill the game goes live. But if it can be hacked, it will be hacked, even if it takes a few months
