Its an OK game, nothing revolunary about it, but then again people dont play it because it is. I kinda think torchlight 2 might be better though.

I enoyed it, my only thing was I wish there was more too it. I finished all of the stuff with each character class in like 4 hours or so. I'm not complianing though, I was happy I finnaly got to play the game. I was fun, really liked the demon hunter this will be a definite buy.

TL2 that have, MODS, OFFLINE, LAN MADE FOR TRUE FANS no perma internet needed,  with all the limitations D3 blizzard spyware have, seems NOBRAINER to me witch one to choose.

Why does every Diablo 3 or Torchlight 2 thread have to devolve into a vs. debate? I'm getting a little sick of it personally. Here's a news flash... You can buy and play both games! Yes, that's right folks... Diablo 3 and Torchlight 2 can coexist on one computer without any world-ending catastrophic effects!

As for Diablo 3 like any game I will wait until after release before I decide if I will buy it or not. When I see some actual player reviews if they are favorable I will probably buy it but I'll wait until it's on sale. I just can't see paying $60 for any computer game.

    Ok, serious question here.

Does the game look this bad on retail?

I mean, I wasn't expecting something dazzling, but this thing can be run on my tablet given the specs.

I literally logged in and tripple checked my gfx options, this looks like a damn blurry mess.

It doesn't look bad.  It's just the same WoW art style.

It looks spectacular on my rig, the details are stunning, altough I'll admit that the character models are less detailed than the rest of the game.

This logic has no place on these forums.  Be gone thee!  One must be better than the other.  And anyone who likes the game you dislike is an idiot.  It is the way of the gamer :)

No but seriously I feel the same way.  I wasn't blown away by the game, it was fun though.  I mainly bought it because of a few friends who will playing and these friends refuse to play MMO's, so I'd like to play with them.

Sorry but T2's graphics are just to colorfull WoW'ish cartoony for me, Also the limited and uninspired classes are a turn off. I bought and played torchlight for about 20 hurs before I became really bored of it. T2 just appears to be more of the same so I'll skip it. Between D3, PoE, and Grimdawn I don't think I need to worry about having better (less Neon-bright WoW cartoon) games to play/support.,

Um your previous question: I'm using an i7 920, 12 gigs of 1600mhz DDR3, and a 560ti on Vista Ultimate.

The image you posted doesn't look too bad imho, but on my system it does look better. Although I wanted to mention that area that you're in has low lying fog, or creeping fog, I can see it very clearly on my set-up... Maybe that's what you're noticing?

  • Fir3lineFir3line Member Posts: 767

every gfx setting is set to max, the JPG just makes it look worse, than it actually is, but its still not something I would expect from a 55 quid game, honestly, its quite baffling to me.

Looks fine - people forget that Blizzard cater for the masses so dont expect Farcryesque graphics.  They will have it running on as many systems as possible.

Overal good game - just D2 with better GFX...................................guess what..........................thats all i want.  My advice, if you love D2 then buy it, if not go find something else.

Agree with some points - dont like the constant access needed, but this may be for server stress testing in the beta - also this is the beta so like with SWTOR the better graphics may came on release.

I noticed nobody mentioned the real money AH lol for shame on you people !

i'll play the game because its fun and all and now i can make real money from in game stuff ! now diablo may not be anything special but a developer actually allowing players to sell in game stuff for real money is a new idea !

Are we talking the general fogginess that's supposed to be there? Is that what you mean by "blurry"?

Yeah...it's a dark, dreary, foggy place full of evil. So lets make it all colorful and crisp. That oughtta set the mood.

Good news is, you played 4hours for only 1/3rd of the first act on the first difficulty out of four.

Don't forget though that they make acts shorter and shorter, to make it feel more exiting and closer to the final battle. So act 4 is probably a good deal shorter than act 1.

    Awesome job Blizz.

    I like this post.

I've heard so much negativity in this community about Diablo 3 (or most anything Blizzard does) that it gets depressing. I have only played the beta through with the Barbarian but mostly because that was pretty much the only character I ever playled (except for Paladin) in Diablo 2. It's exactly what I hoped the game would be. Fast, fun, and easy to get into and difficult to quit. Excited for the 15th.

So True, Bren.  I'll be picking up Diablo 3, Torchlight2, Path of Exile AND Lineage: Eternal.  Variety is the spice of life, and they all look interesting to me.

For you Guild Wars 2 junkies roaming over here to naysay Diablo 3, take a load off and give your little smoking hate-filled shoes a rest.  I'll be supporting NCSoft when I pick up Lineage: Eternal.
