I have decided to abandon SWTOR since Bioware will not fix the many issues that plague the game. I have been a staunch supporter of the game, but I can play the silly fanboy charade no longer.

So...after many months of listening to the GW2 fanboys here, I have grown weak and have caved to the GW2 hype. I have pre-ordered the game. I know that I am letting the remaining holdouts down, but I hope you can find it in your hearts to forgive me. Call me weak, but the GW2 videos looked so darn good...I can't help it.

They say admitting it is the first step and I must say I feel better now.

So to all of you GW2 players:

See you in...what's the continent called again?

I'll get better...I promise

I'd say take a break, go back to older titles that you haven't played in awhile for a short nostalgia trip. Then, when GW2 offers a "free" open beta weekend or something like that you go try it and see if you like it =].

It's called Tyria and we forgive you. It's often hard to admit such things as it usually means you've pretty much known all along what you're finally admitting. I happen to believe that GW2 is going to exceed all our expectations and after this weekend, you won't even remember what SWTOR is. /hug

Fanboy or not. We are all brothers and sisters in the land of Tyria. Welcome to the brotherhood.

Hes buying a game (one with no subscription btw) not getting married, you know. If he liked the videos and wants into the beta, and can afford the price, the better for him.

Pre-order or pre-purchase? The pre-purchase would mean that we'll see you this weekend. image

Do yourself a favour, cancel the preorder, and ... wait!

Wait until there's an actual release date. Wait until there were more beta events without NDA, so you actually know what you're getting into. Wait until you maybe got into an eventual open beta yourself.

Learn from SWTOR, don't get burned again.

Tyria will be waiting for you :)

It's only $60. Why do people make this seem like a lifetime investment like a house or land? It's a video game. Just buy the game and if you don't like it put it on the shelf with the PS3, Xbox 360, and PC games you don't play.

I believe that you will be pleasantly surprised.

Just remember what you've seen in the videos. It will not cure your gout or make coffee and sammiches for you, it's a game. And it's a different style of combat than SWTOR or any other MMO.

    Agree.

My shelf is empty anyway - I just sell/trade old stuff.

I lost my enthusiasm for SWTOR two yrs ago when I first saw the GW2 trailers, since then I have tried to warn that SWTOR was just the John the Baptist to GW2's Jesus Christ, but alas, I was but a voice in the wilderness.
