When it comes down to it, you're bashing something you just don't like.  Do you spend your time doing the same for other disliked things too?

Yes, and lots of people do.

To suggest that the vast majority of people don't complain about SOMETHING is moronic and ignorant. Complaining is a fundmanetal component of communication. It's part of a basic method of transmitting ideas and principles that has dictated our species for the last 65,000 years.  In fact it's been demonstrated that complaining in some instances triggers a positive physical reaction; we PHYSICALLY ENJOY complaining.

In addition to complaining, people want others to think and feel the way they think and feel about things. That's pretty basic stuff as it goes, something I'm sure you are aware of...

Case in point: you've made multiple posts complaining about people complaining, and expressing that people should agree with your way of thinking (that is that people don't need to complain over and over again).

You're bashing a set of behaviours you don't like.

In the same way there's nothing fundamentally wrong with SWTOR, there's nothing fundamentally wrong with complaining.

You're allowed to tell us all to stop complaining. We're allowed to complain all we want.

We're all complaining about something however, so your argument is flawed and a fundamental level.

    *shrugs*

I dislike that you complain about someone complaining about people complaint about SWTOR. Please feel free to complain about me.

    Guys calm down...

Bottomline to wich any sane person on this site can agree on, is that this Erickson guy now official declared himself the new Iraqi Information Minister.

Everyone can agree on that it's rather laughable that he mentions "No decline in subs" and "Server mergers" in one sentence and is able to keep a straight face.

The sooner they are able to face reality and just start merging the darn servers, the better for the people left playing! Especially all the people who are stuck (like me) on Standard and Light pop servers (which the vast majority of the servers are).

    Have a nice day.

What's bizarre is the non-stop complaining about one thing in particular.  Do you complain about everything  that displeases you forever?  Didn't think so.  What makes it so hard for you to let go of SWTOR?  Judging from most negative comments, the compulsion is emotional.

Like most people, I read forums to gain interesting or useful information.  Noise-makers like yourself add no value to the discussion and detract from this search.  The funny thing is, eventually you'll stop - like a crybaby who's tired itself out - but not before annoying a lot of people.

No offense but you seem to be louder than those "bashing the game" (which I don't see, just see opinions). By constantly telling them to move on, and you yourself not moving on, you keep them trolling and to me that's worse than them, you're just fanning the flames.

Ill stop 'bashing' it when it improves, or when it dies. Any time its brought up, I will bash it. I will forever remember how its failed me and so many other players, and the MMO Genre in general. Why does it matter to you anyway?? Im not hurting you.

Count me and 3 others out with more to follow. We had to switch servers because of the number of people that quit playing on our server. I bought the game almost a year ago, pre paid 6 months and have been playing since first day of paid beta. The reason I shared this will be pertinent to my final reason for quitting although my sub has a couple of months left.

I am very into crafting as thats what I can do during the day in free time while working. The almost quitting point was 1.2 absolutely killing any reason to craft for money, added to the silly pricing (500k, 1 mil, 2 mil) of legacy stuff for a game which a very small portion of its players at the one million credit mark or higher. now anyone can pick up crafting and with a small credt investment make lvl 20 mod-able gear within an hour , that has the SAME stats as the same lvl 50 gear that takes level 400 crafting to make for those who have spent the time and credits.

That was one of the big reasons besides either playing on a completely dead server or a server with 1 to 2 hour queue times at prime now. What pushed me over the edge, and this is where the sub and time played comes in, was the free 30 days. Due to the server change issue and my playing of many alts, up into their mid to late 30's (since there is no end game content I was not in a rush) and not having legacy 6 on either server, I do not qualify for the same free 30 days that a new sub gets for grinding up a toon to lvl 50 and only playing for a month or so.  So with thier selective alienation of accounts with no lvl 50 toons, even with a 6 month sub, loyaly played time, etc, I do not qualify. That was it, I wrote 3 tickets that were responded back with too bad so sad, we will not extend the 30 days to anyone else, no exceptions. This pissed me off enough to tell them where to stick their POS game.

I also checked in recently and all of my tickets asking for the free time like most others were getting are still there, but all text has been deleted from them for some reason, but all other old tickets are still there in full. Also any threads created on the forum about this 30 day free bs are quickly locked.

Aside from these reasons it is also because the game was becoming very stale having to follow an exact pre-determined storyline step by step. I had high hopes for this game, but was very let down. I talked a bunch of people into playing and now I am sorry for that.

That's rather pitiful, but pointlessly annoying people with incessant crying 'cause of butthurt is not against the law, nor  apparently is it against MMORPG's site policy. Fortunately, there is an ignore feature.

    The bashing serves a purpose.

It allows people to vent their frustrations in a public setting with people who hve the same interests as them.

It allows people that are unsure of whether or not to purchase to be able to see the criticisms of the game so that they can make their decision.

In case anyone needs more proof that Daniel Erickson is lying. My account is cancelled. That's a declining sub number.

    Server mergers in May?!?

If we work together here, we could get some great rumors going...

How you could misread that is beyond me. He should be telling people they WILL be getting mergers not we MAY do it.image

Afterall, they've only been begging for it on the official forums for several months now.

It was a play on the first sentence "Did he say MAY???" and what I thought was a humorous isolation (as the month instead of indication of possible intent). I did not miss anything from the article or your response, but guess the joke fell flat...

Wow. No wonder so much hate...no one has a sense of humor anymore. Anyhow..I thought it was funny.

That's exactly who I thought of when I read that.  Erickson lied throughout development about the game so why should he start telling the truth now?

I'll just keep pointing this out, day is almost over anyway. It's declining only if no one else subbed when you canceled.

If you didn't know.... EA's stock is at an all time low and large stock holders have either already pulled out or are threatening EA to pull out!

So yes ofcourse he is desperately trying to tell everyone that SW:TOR isn't losing subs, to prevent EA stocks to dive even further.

Seriously how can you keep a straight face by telling that SW:TOR subs are not declining, but server merges need to happen due to light populated servers?? Servers that were heavily populated up till two months ago!

Ofcourse, you can just stick your head in the sand, like this EA suit and pretend everything is fine and peachy....  /shrug

So you have no actual evidence that Erickson is lying about subscription numbers, just a random collection of irrelevancies.  Giving away 30 days of game time is a method to retain or increase subscription numbers if you think they may drop given in light of anticipated competition.  EA is a huge company and it's probable that some divisions are successful even as others are in decline.  Finally, Erickson never said server merges "need to happen", and neither did he say "everything is fine and peachy".

Do you play SWTOR? What's your interest in bashing the game?

I play...every day...And if you don't think Subs are dropping like flies...You don't play, or you have an incredible ability to ignore the obvious...

    Come on now...My entire Guild quit...lol...Like 20 people...No lie...Don't take fanboism to a new level...lol

I can only repeat Swtor is best game ever for me. Sure, ads to this im sw fan since first movie, but I guess I would enjoy this marvel of gaming anyway.

And to think I was not following at all development news before release. I was not interested on swtor before. Somehow I had impression will be disappointment like Star Trek. Could not be more wrong. Shortly before release decided I will buy, playing since day 1 and having a blast day after day, time permitting. Could be I have time for 1 hour per day or up to 18 hours per day on weekends if no other schedule.

But is funny thing how fast haters community is building, even faster when with wow. Some people just seek always only bad in anything and they are happy with anything that fail. Guess psychiatrists are pretty expensive. :-)

  • mach789mach789 Member UncommonPosts: 131

Been playing since day 1 and still having a blast. Maybe you all shouldn't have made a mad dash to 50? Because I know the haters are usually the power levelers. You group are the group that defeat yourselves in MMO's.

  • OzmodanOzmodan Member EpicPosts: 9,726

This post is a joke, all the people I knew that were playing this have unsubbed.  Once you have gotten a few classes to max level it becomes extremely boring. The game is content poor atm.

Like I have said before, they will be merging servers sometime this summer.  Bet on it.

Oh and to the guy above, you don't have to be a powerleveler to get a character to max level in a few weeks, it just naturally happens.  Once you do that what else is there to do?  Right, nothing!  It is even worst than Wow as there is less to do.  You also use the word 'hater' wrong as usual.  Just because you criticize something does not mean you hate it,  Learn the difference.

I used to say the same thing until I hit 50 a few weeks ago. I am not a gear grind guy, so after 50 there is absolutely nothing to do except level alts. Leveling alts is a pain since you have to do the same old side quests. I am glad you are liking it though. I think Bioware will eventually make it a great game, but it isn't very good in its current state IMHO.

A cross server group finder and server merges will help with the low population issues...if they ever listen to the community.

  • JYCowboyJYCowboy Member UncommonPosts: 652

I say thier Casual Developement seems to not jive with thier targeted Casual Market.  LA and Bioware need to get serious if they want to save thier multi-million investment.  LA needs to let go of the NGE market research and Bioware needs to look outside thier comfort zone.

  • AntariousAntarious Member UncommonPosts: 2,846

I don't have anything to say about the game directly.

I just think EA-BioWare employees should stop making comments in regards to subscriptions.   At this point if I owned EA stock I would be filing a complaint with the FTC about "false positives"...   and let the FTC decide if numbers have dropped or not and deal with it.
