Cause I can't... Only 2 more days... Sorry about this, but I haven't been this excited about a game coming out since WoW. Warhammer was also close, but we all know how that turned out... Man, I still remember last year's April 1st like it was yesterday. Commando was a really nice touch from ANet's side, and back then we didn't even know what year the game would come out. And now we all get to finally try it out... I can't even play any other games right now, I just read forums and play around with different builds for my Thief on a spec calculator. Anyway I hope the game turns out well, and wish you all good time playing this weekend.

Sorry to hear that, buddy. No worries though. This isn't the last beta weekend, and when the game launches you'll be able to play as much as you want.
Now imagine if this turned out to be another Warhammer Online
Just don't get your hopes about the game coming out soon, and remember at all costs that the game is still preety far from finished.
You might beta test this weekend and then you might have to wait for 1 or 2 months to try it again.
I feel you there. I have to work a lot of the weekend as well.
Balance between GW2 time, important RL chores like laundry/groceries/gym, and spending time with the lady friend is going to be a serious problem for me this weekend...
I have stopped getting excited about new releases and betas. So much hype as of late but only to result in allot of let down.
I must say WAR only turned sour for me when i reached 30 level or so. I had a blast til then. Only game in which i had fun at pvp. and then people started leaving in droves and it all went downhill.
That's the main thing I'm worried about, cause it's not the first time it'd happen to me. FFXIV or SWTOR anyone?
You gotta be more creative man! Groceries? Solved! No need to eat, so you don't have to go the gym. Laundry? Make your lady friend do it!
The WvWvW is a copy and paste of warhammer, so it could happen.
well stop getting your hopes all high, do not feed into all the hype, accept the fact there is NO PERFECT MMO and u wont get disappointed much.
As much as I avoided all the hype around gw2, I will admit I am excited about this weekend. Even cleared Friday-Saturday up just so I can get some play time in. Sad part is after this beta we will have to wait a while to play gw2 again, luckily I have Tera to hold me down until then.

I knew I'd have to work saturday, but checked the schedule and found out I had to work Sunday too (which I'm usually off.) Told the manager "No-can-do" and she whinned something about her birthday that weekend, then let me have this Sunday off. Her b-day is Saturday....I'm opening for her. She can deal with the hangover Sunday >:D

I wouldn't call it exactly "copy and paste". It's like saying they're the same games cause they have PvP. I don't want to sound "fanboish" but ANet seems to be on the right track when it comes to that.
the difference between the hype of GW2 and WAR is something called Paul Barnett. That freaking idiot was the sole reason why WAR got so much hype. Between Barnett and hidden features and NDA up a week prior to launch should of been a warning signal and I admit I got caught up in it.
The hype of GW2 on the other hand is based on player feedback and word of mouth. Theres a huge difference there.

I played alot of Warhammer.
3rd faction would make a world of difference.
The main problems with Warhammer was that the engine sucked, it was really amateur and the lack of factions.
A proper Warhammer MMO must have at least 5 factions at start...
Ummm wrong. Warhammer had the same 2 faction single server system that ever other game out there has. The systems that absolutely do not work. A system that reset itself every single day after the timer to siege the opposing faction's city was up.
GW2 V8 offers 3 different servers all fighting for domination over The Mists. That is 3 servers, and 2 weeks of continous war to determine the victor.
These 2 systems are so vastly different they are not even really comparable. Very little in Gw2 is anything at all like Warhammer was.
Same...it was extremely fun until the higher tiers
1. For god's sake mmo gamers, enough with the analogies. They're unnecessary and your comparisons are terrible, dissimilar, and illogical.
2. To posters feeling the need to state how f2p really isn't f2p: Players understand the concept. You aren't privy to some secret the rest are missing. You're embarrassing yourself.
3. Yes, Cpt. Obvious, we're not industry experts. Now run along and let the big people use the forums for their purpose.

Cant wait either, I work on friday until the minute the beta starts! So Ill be like 30 min late to the beta, I hope you guys can cope withouth me untill then.
Don't forget that more than likely we will have server crashes, log on errors, and emergency server maint. Just throwing that out there. This is be the biggest load on their servers to date we have to expect something to happen.
