Beta Weekend to start at noon?

NevulusNevulus Member UncommonPosts: 1,288

Who else will be bummed at work or school knowing that they could be at home tomorrow afternoon playing GW2?

I know I will be at work counting down the minutes like a mad man.

I'll be doing the Guild Wars 2 beta until TERA launches at 3 on Saturday, then it's strictly TERA after that. :)

same here. I been itching to swing around that axe on my zerker.

I wonder if GW2 will have a RP dedicated server or RP dedicated clans.

"Tarnished Coast" has been selected by RPers to be the unofficial official RP server, just as an FYI.

I wonder if you all will be able to do it... since having experienced GW2 I've lost the desire to play other MMOs. The whole "!" questing system, the whole trinity-role based system... man, I just can't do that anymore. Beta-ing GW2 is like test-driving a Jaguar, then driving home to your old MMO in an AMC Pacer.

    Oderint, dum metuant.

Everyone seems to be going under the assumption that at precisely noon tomorrow they'll jump right in and start playing.

I know i'll be tarred and feathered and stabbed with pitchforks for even thinking there might be a hint of a hiccup for the BWE launch, but its been known to happen

When it's noon in Washington state at my aunt's house, it's 2pm here in Missouri (we're CST), so no that's not exactly right.  Why....I'm not sure, but it's not.  :)

If you just stop and think of the geography for a second you'll realize you just left a large chunk of the continent in the twilight zone... Mountain time:

    12:00 Pacific, 1:00 Mountain, 2:00 Central and 3:00 Eastern... and 3:42 in Newfoundland i think :)

It's because we are in Daylight time now, you need to compare PDT to EDT and CDT, not EST and CST.  12:00pm PDT is 3pm EDT.

I took a personal day for tomorrow. I figured I could get my two acres mowed in the morning but I wont have anything to do in the afternoon. I wonder what I could find to spend my time on oh way starting at 2pm central. :)

Sucks cause i just got a brand new really good job, so i will be working till 7pm PDT.

So my wife and 2 kids will be playing it all day before i get home (we all pre-purchased).

So far no good ideas to not go in, calling in sick the second week of a job just looks bad.

So is Washington not Pacific time?  Washington is also where ArenaNet is, so....I don't know....weird.

East coast is gmt -4 during daylight savings. central is gmt -5, mountain is gmt -6, except for Arizona which has enough sense to say "stuff it" to the whole daylight savings thing. and pacific is, as they mentioned, gmt -7 during this time of year.

The other way to think of it is that the sun will pass over the east coast 3 hours before the west coast. So noon on the west coast  means 3 hours past noon on the east.

    All die, so die well.
