Anyone purchase through GameFly?

jugularveinjugularvein Member UncommonPosts: 371

Reason I ask is I tried to purchase through the guild wars website but they said they sold out on all the editions.  My question is for the ppl that bought through Gamefly

I got a notice for the purchase and I see the game listed in my library but how do I download it?

Also are they supposed to email me a beta key?  Its been about a half hour and I still havent recieved any email.

Any help would be great.  Thank you

edit : sorry didn't see you were referring to guild wars 2 .

Trust me I didnt want to go this route but the GW2 website was sold out.  Not sure where to go from here since I never bought anything from GameFly before

Go into your account on the gamefly.com page. Click on "Purchase History" it should be on the lower left side. Click on the order number for your purchase and the game key should be on that page.

I purchased GW2 directly from ANet but I did purchase some stuff from Gamefly back when it was Direct2Drive.

Hello thank you for the reply.  I went through purchase history and I see where it lists product key but nothing is underneath it.  I have an order number and it says SUBMITTED (does that mean it hasnt been processed yet I assume.) And if so how long does that usually take going on 1 hour now ;/

No clue on how long it takes as I never purchased anything from Gamefly but back when it was Direct2Drive, the emails were almost instant.

It's possible that ArenaNet blocked all digital purchases since they reached server capacity for this test. You can try emailing Gamefly but it'll probably take at least 24hours for them to reply, so cross your fingers and hope for the best.

You can try downloading the client, you can find a link if you google it, this way if you do get the email, you'll be ready to go.

Bumping since I still havent recieved a email key.  Has anyone purchased from GameFly and actually recieved a key??

If so, how did you go about downloading the game.

I bought the game close to a day ago from GameFly.  My order still says processing.  I sent an email to them stating that GW2 website was instant keys and when I downloaded from direct2drive they were instant too.

Any help would be great because if I dont recieve a notice by the end of the day I'm cancelling my order through them ;/

i got mine from best buy and i havet got anything yet my guess is they have a highly slow mail system or too many orders going on now

Thank you, so that basically means then we prob wont have it for today, which is a bummer.  Reason I went with GameFly was GW2 website was sold out, and Gamefly said after purchase you would recieve a key and instructions instantly.  18+ hours later isnt the most "instant" I have seen lol.  I understand if I am not able to get in today, but the reason I did buy it was to play sometime this weekend.  If I don't recieve at least some notice by tomorrow then I may just cancel ;/

There are special editions on the guild wars site 150 is pretty steep though,,, thought about it might be sitting out this beta

Good point, and I agree.  I just wish they had a bit more communication.  I dealt with Direct2Drive before GameFly took over and they were very responsive.  I was just hoping someone ordered from GameFly and actually recieved a key ;)

A.Net does not sell the CE directly, they just have the information on thier web site.

You mean the company formerly known as Direct 2 Drive? Seeing as they haven't given back my download access for the games I already paid for, it will be a cold day in hell before I use them for anything other than a spam relay.

    There is NO miracle patch.

95% of what you see in beta won't change by launch.

    Hope is not a stategy.

It can be very slow , combine that with the fact contacting their customer service is nearly impossible,

    You can try Phone:

How to reach a live person:

Press 5 when recording begins playing.

    Hours of Operation:

    Phone Support: 12pm-4pm CST

    Email Support: 8am-7pm CST

They apparently aren't open yet soooo

I'd say you probably were a bit late as they had a ,'certain' amount for the beta weekend.  If your after their allocation you'll have to wait for the next weekend event. As there's only one code you need through prepurchasing I think there doing it this way.

A bummer but you only miss one weekend I'd imagine

This looks like a job for....The Riviera Kid!

Great thank you guys, actually my old games from direct2drive did transfer over which is good,(but none of them I play anymore...which is bad lol)  I am just hoping I can get in this weekend for a few hours.

The only other issue I have is if they are sold out like GW2 website and Gamestop as someone stated, why have it still listed on the website as being able to buy and play immediatly.  They should of just said sold out instead of me sitting here knowing I prob wont see this beta ;) ;/

I just bought it through GAMEFLY - despite swearing I'd never use them again after the D2D fiasco.

The key is in the purchase history - as others have said.

Go to GW2 site and register.

After registering, I received emails from ANET with the link to dl the beta (granted the emails were in French for some reason) - but I could figure it out.

I'm dl'ing beta client now.  That's as far as I've got, but I assume I'll be able to login when it is installed.
