in Guild Wars 2
So i make a charcter on Anvil rock play for an hour 3 other friends then get on and want to play together now they cant log into my server because its full and i cant make a charcter on a different server. i even deleted my chracter to try and change servers. Is there no way to get on the same server now?
Also have 1 friend who made a charcter on a different server what to do about that?

ohh yeah ive had no problem logging in and out and zero lag at all even on my server that is full.
HOW TO TRANSFER SERVER:
1. Once you're able to login, purchase the 2,000 gem thingy, go to the "Commerce" tab in the upper left corner, and you'll see it.
2. You purchase it by giving them your CC info and all that stuff, thought they do not charge you. This is free during beta, and the steps including the CC info is there to test the system still.
3. Once the transaction is complete, you should see that you have 2,000 gems on your account.
4. Log out *cross fingers you get back in once again*.
5. At the character screen, on your bottom left you have "World Selection". Click it.
6. Choose a new server, and you should see an option to move all your characters to a new world/server.
7. You'll be logged out again.
The next time you log on, you'll have changed server. Hope this was helpful.

Hey everyone, we have an update for you on World selection and transfers. In order to test transfers and world balance, from Friday, April 27 at 15:00 PDT to Saturday, April 28 at 18:00 PDT, players will have free and unrestricted World transfers. ~RB2

And did you already manage to log on/off that many times? I'm still stuck outside like the rest lol!
Ok, when I read that on the server list originally, I thought I missed something, but apparently, for all this game's supposed glory, they're already starting to screw it up with novice-like mistakes. Forcing people to stay on only one server is a great way to piss people off. I totally understand charging to move an established character, but to not let people start a new character on any server makes it harder for people to play with friends and find a community they enjoy.
Being innovative usually means that the "new" thing you've brought to the game is something people will want, not a feature that nearly every MMO has which people have taken for granted will always be there which you have removed.
Really, am I missing something? What could possibly be the benefit of forcing people to pick a server without having played the game and checked out the community only to have all of your current and future characters stuck there? I can't see a benefit to the players, but I can see AN milking this like crazy - and if that's the case, this game is already making mistakes that will drive me away. (and yes, being able to start characters on random servers is that important to me to be able to play with friends who didn't start the game with me)
I was a part of a previouse BWE and I was locked into a different home server because of it even though I had no charcters since they were deleted. Now my guild is playing so I needed to switch servers. You get that error if you dont have the necessary gems to complete the server switch transaction. After getting the gems and switching I have had no problems. Haven't had any problems logging in and the transfer took no time. It'll auto log you out but wait a minute and try again and you should be moved over.
Even though they are offering free transfers, I didn't mind paying with the free gems they suppliy us since I do not plan on purchasing anything else atm.

Don't cost gems anymore you say? Well that sucks for me since that's how I did it about an hour ago and it worked flawlessly. 1800 gems down the drain but I'm not worried. Either way the server transfer does work and glad to hear you got through it.
