This is not fun, when you get in que in some games then you know about how many are in front of you in the que, here you get error login server or something worse.
I haven't experienced any login issues, and this is not their que system. When I login it tells my I was placed in a Que and I am in an offloaded world and then when my que was up it offered me to return to my world. I was playing the whole time. Best que system ever.
Obviously they are having some login issues on some servers. It is a beta you know...
Amazing to me just how many things are 'ok' in a BETA for GW2 which were cause for crucifixion in all previous MMORPGs in the past 2 years on this very site.

all i keep getting is connection error..oh well nvm..but i thought if you paid for game up front you were guaranteed beta access..not even been able to create a char yet..will have to keep trying i guess.

There are people who are complaining up a storm about problems in the GW2 beta just as there have been people complaining about every other games' betas. There are also people who are defending the problems in this beta, just as there have been people who have defended problems in all other games' betas.
It is not one group of people who complain during one beta then defend issues during another. That's a logical fallacy you're forming in your own mind. There is no hypocrisy.

Nope. Not really. But expecting log ins to be flawless in first hours of first big beta event is pretty naive in itself, no matter the game. It's even common with launches (remember WoW launch, or Cata launch...or any other MMO launch day?). When You have so many people hammering the log in server it's bound to get ovelroaded.
Do I really have to go to the other threads on these forums and copy the quotes from people and put them all here for you guys to read? Really? You can't read those threads yourself? Look , I'm not here to cut down GW2 or anyone, I made s simple observation, that is all. If your panties are now in a bunch because you feel I have offended your first born, perhaps you should relax a bit, step away from the computer, grab a cup of Earl Grey and look out the window at the birds or something.
If you really want me to go out of my way to help you read the stuff you failed to read yourself, I suppose I can. I have another 2 hours left at work here and so far it is a rather peaceful Friday. But seriously, just look at the 'recent' threads here on MMORPG that are in the GW2 section. Then think back just a couple 3-6 months and remember all the stuff which was said about those games back then when they launched. Its really not a hard thing to do, honestly.

The only thing i can complain about after watching the live feed for an hr now, is the amount of loading screens. Even though they only last for about 7 or 8 seconds compared to like almost a minute in TOR, i still can't understand why games can't have more open world and less disjointment. Other than that the game looks very nice.

You brought the claim, you want to drive by post it, that's fine, but this rant shows that you are the one that might want to relax and go look at the birds.
I also haven't had this issue. I did run into a snag when I got the free gems from the store and tried to use them to transfer my home server. Didn't really need to but I figured I'd test something that probably won't get used much in the BWE and see if it works. Got an error when it logged me out for the transfer when I tried to log back in. Didn't happen a second time though so not sure if it's something to report. Working fine now though so wish I could be more helpful on your issue.

So thats why they wouldnt let the press show any loading screens in their preview videos......

Simple observation of what? Most always says "it's beta-deal with it" when it comes to these types of things in games.
Save your complaint for something valid to go after them when the game launches like jacked up combat animations, serious lag issues, or bugged to hell dungeons. Something you can actually hammer them on. if they still exist.
Or at least poke fun at them for some of their actual silly statements like how this beta was going to be glorious and virtually complaint free because everyone was paying to be in it. So only the lovers, dreamers, and Kermits would be participating. You know something actually worth fucking laughing at them about.
XD
1. For god's sake mmo gamers, enough with the analogies. They're unnecessary and your comparisons are terrible, dissimilar, and illogical.
2. To posters feeling the need to state how f2p really isn't f2p: Players understand the concept. You aren't privy to some secret the rest are missing. You're embarrassing yourself.
3. Yes, Cpt. Obvious, we're not industry experts. Now run along and let the big people use the forums for their purpose.

What's really amazing is the things people that don't share or want to understand something are 'ok' with bashing everything they find negative. Works both ways, now doesn't it?!

Yes, yes you do!
Not only that, you must provide graphs, statistics, references, and links. Most importantly, LOGIC!
Seems people forget that this is the purpose of these betas. would you rather have this happen now or on release day? ask yourself that.
Actually, we are WAY past the identify and fix BETA here at this point. These are BETA Events, for those that already purchased to get a taste of the game. WE are not here to test, and help fix the game at this stage, that stage is already come and gone. YES, there are still regular ALHPA/BETA testers who have been and most likely still are doing exactly that. WE are NOT them, do not for a moment believe the illusion that you are invited to play this weekend to help them identify and fix things in the game. At best we are helping on stress tests, and barring a HUGE outcry on the BETA forums, our voices will hardly be heard. About the only way to get your BETA Event voice heard is to have an existing ALPHA/BETA tester pick up your topic and run with it in thier official tester forum.
That all being said, GW1 didnt have these disconnect issues during its BETA event weekends. It also didnt have known issues knocking out any form of advanced graphics hardware (SLI and Crossfire). There are other issues too, the human tutorial is nice, the Norn is about as thought out and exciting as gum in your hair.
I remember when SWTOR came out it didn't have AA and this community when nutts over that one issue alone, but have an AMD GPU and set your AA in Catalyst and get black screens in this game and we get 'it's , it' just BETA'. Do you realize how many people said that exact phrase when SWTOR launched and how many times they were cut down and called every name out there for it? I'm not saying this game is anywhere near how bad SWTOR is, but it is rather neat how so many here say one thing on one game, and twist right around and say the opposite when it's their game on the block.
NO, "it's BETA" wasn't a good enough argument for RIFT, or SWTOR, or FFXIV, so it's not a good enough argument for GW2. I'm sorry, but it just isn't. Personally I am loving the game play so far, when I can stay connected that is. In the past 3 hours I have been disconnected 7 times, and not a single one gave me a decent message telling me what happened. Just the operation couldn't be completed and try again later. So was the disconnected on my end? Was it my ISP connection? Was it a server crash? What was it? How exactly am I supposed to describe my trouble to support? Am I going to get support by just saying it keeps crashing and I have no idea why?
At this stage, this shouldn't be gettng this many disconnects. It just shouldn't. I'm about as big a fanboi on GW2 as you can get, but I'm also not blinded by that fact alone. They have issues, they need to fix those issues. And people on here need to stop jumping for blood every time someone questions the godliness of GW2, and start reading what they say instead of putting thier hands over thier ears and going "nahanahanahan I cann't HEAR YOU!"

I disagree. To walk into these forums and pretend you have no idea of all the hype that had been posted here over the last 6 months is anything less than impressive. Perhaps you havent looked at this games forums or the pub forum posts/threads over the last 6 months, in which case i can understand.
I have a pretty run of the mill pc... AMD tri core, 4gb ram and a GTX280 - I have not had any problems what so every in the game thus far. We had one lag spike that the whole area felt but other than that It was like playing release.

In it's currrent state, this game is FAR worse than SW:TOR is or ever was during any of its beta events that I ever took part in. I guess given your computer hardware, your mileage my vary.

List em! Go ahead, be the voice of reason!
First beta?
Every. Single. Beta. I have ever been in has had similar problems.
RIFT was pretty damn good though, won't argue that.
I just hope I'm one of the "lucky" ones who gets right into the game in an hour lol

I didn't start playing until 3 hours after the beta started, but so far I've only crashed once. (Holy shit, had I been playing 5 hours?)
The only time I did crash, however, was because I tried to link 50+ of my skills in team chat at once for WvWvW and it crashed my game. ^_^
Ditto. Very impressed so far.
