I played them 2 games for a while but got tired of them. Then i started to play planetside and i havent got bored. A truely awesome game if you like FPS. Also have a look into city of villains, that looks like a great game. I also hear guild wars is a good game if you like wow/eq and them sort of games

Eve is pretty good, so give it a try, you don't loose anything.

Once again, it's Alyson Hanningan time [tm] again:

"And this one time, in band camp .."

Every single week, we have a "Recommend me a ..." type post. The common theme is that every single post (save the odd, enlightened exception) neglects to mention the poster's interests within a MMOG. Wishing to play a MMOG [Eve Online] because of flashy advertising, graphics and the promise of RPG does not directly translate into a MMOG that you will enjoy.

You need to provide us with at least some information as to what turns you on and off within MMOGs in able to provide you with considered choices.

Let's provide a basic framework for starters:

    Setting

Fantasy or Sci-Fi? Or, if your interets are much broader than that dichotomy, what kind of feel (theme) do you prefer? From your choices of L2 and WoW, I'm guessing a (heroic) fantasy theme, right?

    Environment

PvE, PvP or RvR? Do you prefer co-operative play with other players were you are predominantly competing against the gaming environment? Or do you prefer a game where direct confrontation with other players is possible? Perhaps a mixture of both where you join a particular side?

    Character

Do you prefer a level based system or a skill based system? Do you like a personalized avatar? How much customization do you require? Do you want to look like everyone else or prefer to have a unique looking character with unique equipment and weapons? Do you want a class based system (roles) or a broader one based on skills where you are not straight-jackted into a role, and can change your gaming style?

Once you've sat down an analyzed what you want from a MMOG, you can then objectively look for the MMOG that best fits your desired characteristics and hopefully download a free trial.

The irony is that by asking us to recommend you a game without providing us with any information on your requirements, how can we recommend a game that you like. Also, how can you place any trust in our recommendations?

After all, some smart alec might recommend Mourning to you :P

    Regards,

Run threw a couple dozen free trials till you find something you like. Can't go wrong.
