As of right now, 4:16pm EST, they found a significant bug as a part of updating their platforms for launch.
My comment: For launch? We launched a week ago for those who preordered, and most people who will play a MMO these days preorder for the benefits. Im betting they found a significant bug as a part of server transfers.

Yet, instead of fixing the bug, they are going to bring everything back up now so that the whiners can play there precious game.
Then they'll have to perform maintenance again in order to actually fix the bug, which will cause more complaining by the complainers who wanted them to forego fixing it so that they could just get in and play.
Not real bright...
Yea "launch" seems quite silly these days. Most people who are going to play have already pre-ordered. Possible that the server transfers had an issue which is what they stopped for. Either way its a Monday and a work day for most people, I don't mind delays (as long as they come back online tonight!)
For those who took today off to play TERA... huh? lvl 38 capped head-start and who still trusts MMOs to stay up for pre-launch to actually take days off work? I've learned my lesson long ago with regards to taking time off work...

Yeah...I still dont get the "Launch Platform" upgrades.
Server transfer upgrade was the big part of this. Maybe it has something to do with billing if it is launch platform related.
But id still lay odds that the transfer system wasnt working properly, borking characters if used.

And yeah, people upset that they just dont finish now, but if they are taking this step, bet they wont be doing it tonight, sounds major.

Stop allowing companies to bully you around! Don't eat up the lies!
This game was launched the minute servers went live and no character wipes were going to happen. Just like every game before this one, they opened up servers early to let paying customers test things out and find bugs for them. Unfortunately enough people are willing to buy the bullshit that this isn't "launch" yet so that makes it ok?
Not in my book, the game has launched and they've been down for hours now trying to fix bugs... I work at a software company, bugs happen, you fix them as quickly as possible.
LOL! I took 2 days off when World of Warcraft released Cataclysm... Granted it was my birthday and also I had to "use or lose" a few vacation days before the end of the year... but yeah, with how Cata turned out for me I can honestly say I would never again use time off for a game. Never. Again.
Good news and bad news...
Good news is level cap for headstart was removed. Bad news is you cant play to take advantage of it
Generally those periods of server updates happen between prelaunch and launch. Sure, there are some problems, but its a bit unusual to be attempting an upgrade during an actual prelaunch day. That being said, I have several days off work...so yeah Its exciting and I love witness the whole process.

"For those wondering, the level cap will still be increased to 60 along with all related in-game content when the servers return."
So they toggled those flags off and raised one variable. Still sounding like it is the server xfers that is borked, since we have been on the launch platform since day 1 of prerelease. Maybe they will make me eat my words and server xfers will be up.

So the race to 60 begins . . momentarily. Thank god Im now a dirty casual.
You're right, basically the game has launched. Now name a single MMORPG that didn't have any downtime around launch?
They found a "significant bug". Bugs happen and they're trying to deal with it.
They're also trying to implement free transfers to the new server they just opened, something which I don't think they even considered before last Friday and the very large queues were evident.

Its been working all day, even though their forums and account management must be intrinsically tied to the game, that or it was the billing upgrade, who knows, we are mushrooms.

I had no issues with any of the WoW releases, expansions, launches...
Yeah, 23412341234134 people on one server will cause it to lag, move to a lower population server, problem solved... Or wait in Queue.
Tera launched on the 28th no matter what the marketing team tries to lie and make you believe...
They've been down for hours and hours attempting to get the servers back up for paying customers.
If players are already 38+ in 1-2 days play time then rushing to be the highest level is pointless considering how fast you can level. Being 1-2 days behind other people is meaningless with a leveling speed like that.
I remember rushing in SWTOR, the 10 people who beat me to cap had 1 extra set of daily rewards over me and it made no difference, in fact, because I was a healer, I got groups easier and managed to out-gear people much faster.
WoW had a notoriously bad launch. They actually had to refund money to a lot of folks due to servers crashing. I didn't bother reading the rest of your post.
What are you bringing to this discussion?
OP
Thank you for putting this up to pool updates. I thought it was weird to have maintenance between the days if head start before the "launch". I assumed they would be implementing the "launch" patch (yes, there is a difference) and wanted to have lead time in case of any problems. I may have been right lol.
Just not worth my time anymore.
Forums Up, Login Up, still cant connect to servers but they show up, should be soon
No word on Xfers.

Yeah you must not have been around the first couple of weeks of WoW. The game was playable (although laggy) until you tried to loot something. Then you'd be stuck forever. Took them weeks and lots and lots of downtime to fix.
They are working on expired accounts issue (some people)
They are working on servers up but cant connect issue (everyone)

Can you tell he bold faced lie? Because I was aruond for all those launches, they were less than stellar. And lets not forget EQ2, during their launch they had to bring servers down at one point for 3 hours, well 3 hours turned to almost 2 days.
