A few times crashing in 1-2 hours for almost every player i know on my server, seems to be a normal thing meanwhile. its funny that some of them think its their computer and an upgrade would solve it. i just asked around and 8 out of 10 players have the crashes.
Since patch 1.2. and all the hotfixes after, it just got worse with every patch.....
usually the crashes happen when NPC conversations start or end. On corellia its worst.
No word about all that from BioWare.......

I am playing on the Harbringer server and have not experienced any desktop crash yet.
Currently playing SWTOR and it's MUCH better than it was at launch.
At the end I came back to my previous configuration, I prefer to crash to desktop each 2-3 hours and play the game at the higher settings.

Then why are you on the SWTOR forums again? Oh right....to be a troll.
Seems to be pretty planet specific atleast for me I can't go 10 minutes without crashing on alderaan. Then again I think this is just a way for Bioware to delay fixing things until after the free month they handed out. Once a majority of people are actually paying to play I expect this to be fixed.
The official Forum is filled with CRASH TO DESKTOP topics meanwhile. i was just one of the 1st players that posted about this crappy problem.
Players are crashing everywhere, NPC cut scenes , MAP loading etc etc
I quit for now, maybe i return with 1.3 if it has enough stuff to offer....
I had the same problem until I realized it was happening to other games as well and it was in fact a hardware issue.
RIFT, EQ2, Vanguard, City of Heroes, Hellgate, AOC, Skyrim etc etc etc they all run on my PC for hours, no crash.
SWTOR does crash...
If they fix some major issues soon and fast they be losing more and more . my server is a dusty old plain now and nobody on. empire side might be around 100 on at once during peek hours and repub side is half that and getting worse every week.
first time hearing about it... over 100 people guild noone complaining on forum or in guildchat or on ops... nothing on fleet general...
so as for me:

You know what's funny? I play since pre-release on a MACBOOK PRO and i've crashed to desktop maybe 3 times top.

Haven't had that complaint in awhile myself. A few inculding myself had it right after 1.2 was implemented, but only for one day. Considering how many times I crashed to desktop in STO and SWG, this has been nothing.

Hmmm,
I'd appreciate a friend invite so I can test this out for myself :P
Sorry had to toss this out there!
I, for one, have only had one crash to desktop, and that was because my computer downloeaded an iTunes update in the background. Mabye it's you guys' computers and not BioWares fault?

Hokey religions are no replacement for a good blaster at your side.
I get the crash to desktop at the vault area on Belsavis for the daily commendation missions, almost ever time going down that stupid elevator. Other places I seam to crash at arre entering m ship, and sometimes while doing clouds space mission in ilim.
I used to get one now and then but after 1.2 it went up to at least 1once or twice in a 3 hour period.
I blame the hero engine, I don't think they have it optimized correctly.
dual post, sorry

wierd i dont have ne problems with swtor like having ctd
what i do have is after 1.2 the animation is out of sync when u start a conversation with a npc
Not a CTD, but I have been kicked to a loading screen, the one I see for loading into the fleet I believe. Happened about three times in the last week or so.
Might be related to a loss of internet connectivity, though not 100% sure on that one.
Me too :-))
There's also a really long thread about this on the official forums that had to be moved to new threads a couple times, but not one reply from Bioware/EA last time I checked to address the issue and what they are doing about it. I've dealt with constant crashes to desktop for awhile only within SWTOR with no error messages at all. I was able to get back in and play right after, but there were times when it happened every few minutes and made it unplayable.
However, I fixed the issue after weeks of toying around and trying a handful of things. In the end, uninstalling the software that monitored clock/fan speed of my video card fixed it. I haven't had a single crash since I removed the bundled software that came with my video driver. On my end, the software was MSI Afterburner, but this is clearly not the only problem because there aren't that many crashes with people specifically using MSI Radeon HD video cards. I think it must have something to do with compatability issues between video card monitoring software and SWTOR.
