Rogues are great at PvE and PvP, I like to play rogues because they have alot of tactics behind them and are a fun class to play, sooo I voted Rogue.

I have tried many many classes, and I had most fun playing with a Rogue too.
Love the speed of attacks and amount of damage they do. ::::20::

Mages are quite nice as well, though I have never really been fond of any casters in any game except SoR.

I've tried every class and gotten a priest and a hunter to 60. I'd say priests are really good at PvP if spec'd right, you'll always get a group, you can do instances at lower levels than others could, etc. Although, they do have a bit of a hard time leveling, but that's not that big of a deal.

Hunters are alright as well, but not exactly the PvP type. Really good at PvE though.

Druids are amazing for PVE because they can go in and out od shaoeshift and heal :P

Druids also are great for PVP and can do lots of roles and runaway evry fast Also stealth!

Shaman are overpowered and own in PVP tho :P

I think it's not the class but how you use them, to how good you are Any class can beat any class.

I agree. Other classes may be better in some circumstances then druids but the druid is a great class for all situations. The biggest problem with a druid is just learning how to play the class against certain classes and monsters. Once you figure the class out, it is truely an awesome class with lots of flexibility.

all depends on how you want to play pve, pvp, solo, group oriented etc. basically in the end game (MC, BWL) all classes are needed and appreciated.

Ok, seriously, why the hell is this in the guilds section? Like, this should be under General Discussion or something, not Guilds. What does this thread have to do with Guilds? I'm just sayin, if you put random threads or a non-specific thread into a specific category of other threads, it'll make the categories useless. Guild forums should be used for guilds. Thats why there is a guilds section. This should be under General Discussion since there is no unique affiliation of this topic to Guilds.

I'm also sure there will get a greater amount of information and votes for this poll if this was entered into the General Discussions area because that is where most people will go to read thing and vote on polls like this. People will also get a better understanding of people's opinions on different classes.

I'm not surprised Rogue wins.

I'm a warlock fan myself. I have a 31 lock.

my reasons for warlock:

pets, pets, pets, pets (acutally demons)

love having that melee ability while i spell cast

they have an interesting story: mages that have gone a little deep into the black magic

it was my first class that i ever tried and i suppose that has something to do with it.

my alternate is a rogue (i just wanted to see what all the fuss is about) i won't post my opinion on rogue because it's hard for me to make the transistion to rogue after playing warlock. it's a whole new game altogether.

solo with warlock is great if you know how to master soulshard hording (yes buy space in your bank and horde them !!) and managing hate between you and your pet, some pets have better tanking abilities others are for ranged attacks, you all prolly know this. the point is that it is a complex class. and not for everyone.

great for RP.

(yes this should not be in the guild section but felt compelled to reply anyway.)

Hunters are alright as well, but not exactly the PvP type. Really good at PvE though.

Learn how to play your hunter! Hunters rock in PVP the only two classes I have a hard time with is mages because of blink and freez.. and shadow priests because they nuke and DOT but neither are impossible

heres some tactics

Mages- Mana drain - and concussion and run some distance and repeat - if they blink, wingclip and jump away - it seems if your in the air when they freeze it wont effect you - but know knows :P once there mana is down to nadda - kite or melee them to death.

Priests - mana drain and concusion - and repeat - dont get close they will fear - once mana is completely drained then go for the kill

Shadow priest - hope you have a couple of levels on them - because they hurt! but do the same steps above - but good luck

Shammies - drain there mana, kill there totems - they will use up half there mana trying to get you - and once there mana down, then melee them to death or kite either ore, if they tauren id just kite because of there stompin stun

Palies - same as shammies a pali with no mana = dead

Rogues, wingclip and run through them, get your range and serp sting and arcane shot if you get them with wingclip and stuns, then aimshot and repeat.. also make sure you mark them or they can stealth and get away. If they jump you, your probably in a stun lock, try to move to get out of it - once out of lock then wingclip and just try and get as far as possible and kite them.

Warriors - kite the crap out them.. if they snare you.. well hope you are at least a corporal and can use your little item to get unsnared or they just might woop ya, but not always

druids - depends on what form they are in.. mana drain them if they are in caster form, if in animal form treat as a rogue or warrior if bear

all situations change as the players change there own tactics - so learn to adjust to different situations

I voted for Warrior because that is my favorite character to play

I have also raised several hunters and shamans. I have been paired up with a rogue since aorund level 15 and we are now into our 50's. We make an untterly devastating combination in PvP and PvE. After so long playing together, we know each others style, what we will go with in which situation... we can pretty much read each other and that is what makes us so formidable. That and he is so damn sexy with his sneaky sneaky ways! Gives me shivers just thinkin of the blood flyin offa the ends of his blades!

I've played every class and They all have their ups and downs, i do have to say in pvp shammys are the best, its true they are severely over powered but there are few players who can defeat an experienced lvl 60 shaman

Warrior/rogue are gear depedent whereas mages/priests are not as gear depedent. I have to say priest is probably easiest and one of the best class to play at higher level because their curses can take away half of your health before your realize it.

What class is best?

In truth the answer to that question is the class that you will have the most fun playing. Personally, my style of play when I make any character is based upon a number of precepts. Primarily, I have to have diversity in my character, I have to be able to do some casting, do some melee, do some range, and even some controlling of a pet or summoned creature or whatever. Knowing myself and what I like to do when I make a character, Hunter was the obvious choice and Druid or Paladin would have been next.

So what class is best is an internal choice, think to yourself what you like to do with your characters, go to the WoW website, read about their characters, and then decide which one you think will suit your preferences the best. That is what I did and I chose the hunter. Don't be like my friend and say, I just want to be an archer when asked what character he wants. Before I installed WoW I did my research on the type of character as it is the most important decision you'll make.

So first decide which type of actions you'll like to do and how you want to play your character and then do your research or ask people on which one they think will suit your interests.

Until all other classes get buffed, the shaman is the only COMPLETE class, so it is overpowered and the easiest to play.

hiii well i chose paladin because there just like worriors but better skills (not to mention the armors awsome too) they can heal themselves when there hurt (wich is VERY usefull when your getting attacked by a higher lvl) so in conclution they heal themselvles same streagth as a worrior (if not more) and awsome skills and armor oh and one more thing did i mention they get a FREE mount when they reach lvl 40? hmm?

Best? For what? You need to define your semantics more clearly, since best in a PVP + PVE game is kind of ambiguous:

For 1 v 1 PVP: The Rogue is irrefutably the best; why? Because it has the ability to kill any class (rogue as well) provided that it is able to execute a stealth move. However, even within the rogue build you have tradeoffs: If you wish to be PVP optimal, then you have to forsake your efficacy in pve, since the skills that are PVP optimal are skills that instantly recharge your stun/dmg skills (but only ONCE within an interval >= 5 minutes).

The PVE rogue is not quite as effective in 1 v 1 PVP (since it doesn't have the short interval disable/dmg that the PVP rogue has), but it is more effective in group pvp and in situations that require the termination of multiple targets. (this is still a viable alternative and, since it excels better in dmg over a long interval it might be better for certain targets... although not much better than the PVP optimal rogue that covers all cases (longer term vs short term essentially.. and for 1v1/small groups it's all about short term))

(I would list skills, but it would take a lot away from the fun of optimizing, which is for me a big part of the game)

The rogue, however, has a very big problem in large scale battles, because of Flares and other spells that reveal invisible foes: Hunters can set traps that freeze you (in which case you can use your spell to break free and become invisible.. but this has a long cool down and with the PVP optimal build you can still only execute it twice within >= 5 minutes), flares that reveal you essentially make you free game for ranged attackers (especially hunters/warlocks/mages/priests that can slow or fear (provided you aren't undead) or nuke) and your weak armor and low hp will make you stay clear of the first tier in your raid group.

In raid groups? .... this is very hard to weight, since different classes have spells that complement each other when used (i.e. Shaman's debuffs/interrupts/totems that add an aoe effect, Priest's health buffs,anti-caster spells, heals; Warrior's attack buffs; Mage's/Warlock's aoe attacks, Fear spells (warrior,priest,warlock) etc... the list goes on and on), but classes that are better in 1v1 (such as rogue, warrior) are generally weighted weaker in larger groups ( meaning that they should be the last target to be killed when engaging, since they provide the least benefit to the group collectively ).

But if I had to be given a choice... I would probably put my money on Priest (which can also be VERY effective in 1v1 (unless ganked(attacked unexpectedly) by a rogue), but the skills that are most effective for 1v1 are not as effective for large scale battles.. once again you have tradeoffs..), since it's superior healing/buffs are a multiplier of the entire party (druids are probably second in line, then shaman/paladin, then mages/warlocks etc.)

For pve battle: I think most people agree that it would be something around the lines of: Warlock, Hunter and Mage (although maybe not in that order.. and maybe Paladin/Shaman instead of mage... it's very hard to tell at times because certain classes are better in certain situations (i.e. multiple targets or tougher single targets))

Best pvp raid/pvp single/pve balance?: Paladin/Shaman would have my gold.

Well in terms of power rogue and shaman are the best. Sometimes I wish I was a rogue just so I wouldn't find them as annoying as i do in PvP.
