Will there Be items and Money in CoV?

I have played quite a few mmo's, Eq1,eq2, wow, Gw.. they all have items/money economy just wondering if CoV will have anything like that, i mean why rob a bank if you dont get any money right! lol
Also i am thinking of pre-ordering the game and was thinking how long it would take to get in beta like it says... anyone have any info would be great thanks

well there is no loot in CoV or CoH. What you gain in CoH is Influence! With Influence you buy costume changes, and Enhascements to your powers.
In CoV it will be Infamy points.
Just anounced at Gencon; there will be another set of points which you get for being in Supergroup mode and doing missions. These Points will pay for the Supergroup base.
Don't forget that super groups will be able to fight for control of items of power, which may be considered loot. These items will be stored in the Super Group Base, when the base is successfully raided the item will switch hands. The item of power will grant the entire super group a temp power.
This particular feature has gone down like a lead baloon in the Euro community. Not sure about the US, but I suspect something similar. Essentially, the new 'currency', to be known as 'Prestige', effectively bars any single player from having a base and pushes bases as little more than an excuse for PvP.
The only potentially good aspect of it is that it may push Cryptic to improve the Super Group system. Super Groups are often little more than an extended friends list, a place to find people online who may help with teams and levelling. They could be a great deal more and the extra emphasis on them following CoV's release may result in some work being done to make them more than they are.
