Now I'm Made: Horrible Company

nate1980nate1980 Member UncommonPosts: 2,075

So I just checked my email and guess what I found. I got charged $14 and some change for a subscription to Tera. I just bought the game yesterday. ALL subscription based MMORPG's in the past have always given you the first 30 days free. So now I'm out $70 for a game that, so far, I don't even like, and even if I was willing to give the game a fair shake my first 30 days, I feel obligated now not to do so. Why should I support a company that does this? Apparently your first 30 days free only applys to people who pre-ordered the game.

Not happy!

Are you sure you didn't apply for an extra month?

    http://tera.enmasse.com/buy-now

Here it clearly states that the first month is included in the box price.

Drama, drama, drama oh the drama. I suggest you contact their customer support, sounds like an error to me!

Velika: City of Wheels: Among the mortal races, the humans were the only one that never built cities or great empires; a curse laid upon them by their creator, Gidd, forced them to wander as nomads for twenty centuries...

Positive. I've been doing this since 2002; you know how it is, it's second nature by now. I guess I only have myself to blame, because when I was ordering I do remember reading the different packages you get. They had descriptions for what you received if you ordered the regular edition and the collectors edition. Further down the column it said only those who preordered would get a free 30 days, but I figured it was just a typo or something, since no company has ever done that. I guess I was wrong, and Tera is the first to do that.

I'm really not happy, and actually quite a bit mad about it. I feel cheated, and no matter how great people say this company is, I'll always have that bad taste in my mouth. Now I'm torn. I'm mad enough that I want to refuse playing their game, but I also already paid for it, so who am I punishing? I just canceled my subscription, but they don't even care enough to ask why, like other MMORPG's do with a survery at the end.

No, what you linked has to do with the game reporting subscription ending on a wrong date, that's a different issue.

That's not the one I got. The CE I got didn't include the bloodstones, because they were only for preorders. I wish I had a link to show you.

At present (and uit has been common knowledge since launch), there have been issues with the accounting/billing system. It's been knwn and being worked on.   I did get rto speak with live support since I am onmy included month but am not yet able to change my payment plan from monthly to 3monthly etc.  In their answer section they specify that's also part of the whole accounting thing that's being worked on.

If you're aware of that issue simply send a ticket, as you have, or go into live support (there will be a queue because of the current issue) and play the game or anything else while on queue. Notify directly that yours is one of those accounts (if you feel you want to make sure yours in particular is being looked into.)  Or just wait.  You have the whole month of May for this, and if you follow their threads En Masse does not bitch moan put walls or asks questions if you want to cancel or a refund.

I enjoyed skipping through that thread but what really made my morning was this post on page 8:

    Subscription renewal: 1/31/9000 !!!

    Subscription Expiration: 1/31/9000

    Status: PendingActivation

Sheesh. The problem seems obvious: Enmasse please update your database to reflect correct dates - I'm not waiting to the year 9000 to play the game!
