AC1 Producer/Developer says goodbye

Farewell, Turbine, Long live AC1

Srand says goodbye to AC1:

I wanted to post to let you guys know that I am no longer with the Asheron’s Call 1.0 Live Team. My last day at Turbine was about a week ago.

Before I left, the team worked out a solid plan for the future: Alex “Ibn” Beckers was replacing me as Producer (yes, that’s why he was leaving the OCR position), the expansion had let us train up some really excellent engineers who now know the tech considerably better than I do (so engineering was taken care of), and the September update looked really amazing. I was looking forward to my final post – once we had all the details worked out – to say goodbye and let you know what the plan was going forward.

Unfortunately, things have changed a bit since then. I don’t have details, and I don’t have answers for you – I’m not with Turbine any more, so I’m not a good resource for those things. But I did want to post and say goodbye.

My time on AC1 Live has been a bit of a long, strange road for me, but you know what? I've had a blast. I loved working on AC1 – hell, I still love playing AC1 after all this time, and that's some testament to the game.

And I never worked with such talented people as we have on the AC1 Live team. They are truly amazing – you guys don't know how lucky you are. *grin* Even in times like this, I know with absolute certainty that the AC1 Live team will do their absolute best for you and for the game. It may not always be enough, but they will always try. I'm going to miss them.

But more than that, I am going to miss you guys. It's the communities – in-game and out – that make MMOs special; and the AC community is one of the best I've seen. I've learned so much from this community, and I've really enjoyed every interaction I had, from the boards to the player luncheons. Yeah, sometimes you took me to task, but I know that you love the game as much as I do, and that's where that passion comes from.

I'll miss you guys, but I know you'll be fine.

I am no longer associated with Turbine, Inc. nor officially involved with Asheron's Call.
But I will always love this game. Long Live AC1!

Does that mean that he quit AC as a player as well?

Or will he keep playing and just mess up this part?
