An intentional scam to farm pre-orders

kinikukiniku Member Posts: 53

This is absolutely ridiculous.  I don't care what the wording is.  I've used this site for years and when its on that row of that page it means you can download and play.

This is deceitful and reprehensible.  Once you click on the link you are driven to a pre-buy site that very clearly was built to take advantage of this faux arrangement.

Pre-Purchase Now, You will immediately receive your Guild Wars 2 activation key

Absolutely pathetic MMORPG.com.

Yeah, it doesn't even take you to the GW2 site. It's just some 3rd party I've never used that trys to mimic it.

I agree this is pretty lame.

To add insult to injury it's not even the cheapest price you can get it for. I bought mine a few days ago for 10% off.

The whole "Signup and Play NOW" button is just attempt to generate sales that this site will get a cut of. Shameful guys, just shameful.image

Because gullible people will go check it out maybe? He gets so much money for each hit perhaps?

It's intentionally deceiving.  This website shouldn't promote scams.

That is exactly the point, they should have known before they approved it and posted it on there site.

It is the sole responsibility of the Staff here to ensure the authenticity of that type of content prior to publishing it on the site, yet they dropped the ball, again.....and it won't be the last time.

DLGamer is appearantly an official retailer for NCSOFTUS...not really 3rd party...though why NCsoft would need a retailer or why anyone but anet is selling the game digitally...makes no sense...none.

    Discounts already, though...insulting.

I used to TL;DR, but then I took a bullet point to the footnote.

Its not DLGamer that people are complaining about. Its the big blue button at the top of the GW2 pages on MMORPG.com which says "sign up and play now" when you cant play now because the game isnt released.

I keep telling people, they never said "sign up and play guild wars 2 now". maybe they meant sign up and play our marketing game now or sign upa nd play with yourself now.
