I try really hard to want to return to this game.

This is the only game that gives me actually immersion into the world around me. Last year I played it due to watching Game of Thrones. I can't remember what bug I ran into, but I remember vowing to myself to never resubscribe. A year later, in mid-season of Game of Thrones season 2, I resubscribed. They've added things like an animation for the horses urinating, mail system(which is actually a nice improvement), and a hunger/sleep system.

I'm on day two. I'm really enjoying being able to mail carcasses to my butcher and being able to haul them quickly with saddlebags. At this point, I'm all for this game. I go back out to farm more wolves with my horse following behind to carry my carcasses. I go atop a rock where apparently 5 wolves are stuck inside, doing way more damage than I can handle. I'm still ok with the game at this point until my horse is swallowed up along with the wolves.

I contact a GM(Dacian) immediately and explain my problem, losing the fully equiped horse and all my carcasses. He says I don't have a pet. I had to then tell him that he should look for it's corpse stuck in the rock ahead of me. I'm not close enough to the rock so he has me run closer to it. By the time we get there, of course he can't find a loot bag. I ask him, "So I can't do anything besides take a half an hour to log off and back on to my tamer, run back and forth to the horses and town, mail it over, and re-equip it?". He tells me he can't do anything. I tell him it's fine. I'll just unsubscribe with the 2 other people I conned into playing this POS "game" like I did the year before. This does not phase him.

What it comes down to is that I can't comprehend how people running this game have such an unwillingness to help the small number of subscription holders it has. Why give up $45 in subscriptions for something that should have such a small impact on the community? If you ever see me posting I'm resubscribing, please find me, and knock some sense into me.

Most people would tell you to wait for the Awakening expansion with the revamped AI before coming back. I'd imagine that something like that would be less frequent. Not to mention I've never heard of that happening and the last time I had a pet issue my pet and it's contents were refunded. That had to do with a pre-dawn patch horse though.

It sounds like they are following their policies on compensation to the letter, which is what most people would want.

    http://www.mortalonline.com/forums/73496-reimbursement-compensation-policy.html

Liars and cheaters have a way of screwing it up for the rest of us.  Unfortunately, they are out there, and if they can take advantage, they will, to the detriment of the rest of us.

I'm sure they don't want to lose any individual as a player.  But, if they violate their policy for you, they have to do it for everyone, including the exploiters.  They stand to lose a lot more players if people think they are not consistently applying the rules, or are allowing cheaters to profit.

Hell hath no fury like an MMORPG player scorned.

I suppose I see your points. It's been too long to be sure, but I believe that rock my horse got lost in was a problem pre-dawn. It's just frustrating. At the time, I had wished the guy would have been quicker to find the corpse of the horse. Simularly related, I tried to get a GM to help me because I couldn't loot the bags from the wolves I had kille, but their messaging system wouldn't work, so they all expired. Seems like these little problems would be easy to fix in C++, assuming that's how they code.

I guess if you're going to play this game, you have to take in the bugs.

It should be noted that those guidelines do not apply to the friends of GM's or other staff. They teleport people around the map to help them out for example, give details of their GM account to their friends to abuse (allowing them to access your personal data too) and of course interfere in guild seiges.

Also, your problem happens a lot ingame despite a certain poster claiming otherwise. Just check the official forums, it's been an issue for months.

Finally, revamped AI (if it ever makes it ingame - 2 years late so far) will do nothing to fix the incredibly buggy code at the base of MO and the example of mobs getting stuck in rocks will continue.

If you don't believe me, just read the official forums. They do delete just about anything negative though, so got to catch a negative post before a mod does.

Mortal Online hasn't been profitable since launch and (as of January) Star Vault only has five employees left. What are you going to do, make them less solvent?

I don't find it weird that they didn't restore your items due to lack of proof. However what I find weird is that they lack tools to find the said proof, as it should not be too difficult.

I do not doubt that you see nothing wrong on the forums, as I told the OP you have to be quick before the mods delete :) There are so many bugs ingame that they removed the bug tracker from public view to hide their incompetence. Posts complaining about game breaking bugs are deleted and users suspended/banned.

However, here is a post I find quite lol-worthy -

    http://www.mortalonline.com/forums/67578-mount-troubleshooting-guide.html#post1217740

There are so many bugs just with horses that players need a guide to help them navigate them all!

So, frankly, I don't care if you believe me or not since you are demonstrably wrong. You have a distinctly one-eyed interpretation and opinion of MO, to which you are entitled of course, but don't mistake your opinion for reality. I support my case with evidence, see above.

It's been shown many times SV lacks the ability to code decent GM and database tools.

It doesn't help that their GM's are incapable of using the limited tools they have of course.

I come back because it's the only MMO I actually want to play. If it wasn't full of bugs, I'd never leave. This is exactly what I want from a game, but flawed.

if your after a bug free game then your looking in the wrong genre, an indie mmo is never going to be for you.

I'm definitely not after a bug free game. Mortal is a bit of extreme example when it comes to bugs, but I do expect them.

meh.............i gave up playing after the guild i started (Freemasons) turned and started another guild behind meh back, Lost most of my members, game had promise and a lot of bugs back at launch. I see it still has promises and bugs.....................niche games are just that, niche games, started by few, followed by few. You get what you get.
