I really havnt followed this game much but have been reading about it lately here. Ive been tempted to get game but being burned by other games , just dont want to throw another 50 out the window for a MMO. Im hopnig they will have a free trial somewhere down the road. My big concerns are the combat being like FPS. I kinda suck at those and not huge fan of PVP. But games that play well and look good, im maybe willing to suck at it but willing to try. So heres hoping that they will offer a free trial down the road for people like me that are on the fence.

I played the beta and am glad that I did because it made me realise this game is not for me.
Reviews, gameplay videos and live streams can only tell you so much...as you have hinted at, you really need to play a game to know whether its for you or not.
Not going to get into why I didnt like it as this isnt intended as that kinda thread, and there are many people who totally love TERA.

In regards to the combat, if that is your main worry, don't sweat it. I suck at FPS combat myself, and this combat isn't anything like it. It's fairly easy to pick up, and not really difficult to get used to. It's not a very steep learning curve at all, at least as far as PvE goes. PvP is a bit more unforgiving and will take some practice.

Tera is a good game just not for me but I am sure there are plenty of people who are going to enjoy it, hopefully there will be free trials down the road so that people can get a feel for the game.

Meh again! It's an mmorpg and what is $50 in the grand scheme of things if you are an mmo gamer? I ordered it and it will be here Tuesday I hope. I played the beta but not enough to form a solid opinion.
Like I said before, it can't be any worse than Aion and I liked that. I'm actually reading more right now in the wiki, watching more videos, and trying to pump myself up for Tuesday. I hope the grinding doesn't destroy it though! Good luck if you decide on getting it!
This is a filler for GW2 for me, but hopefully it is good enough I can juggle the two.
Death is nothing to us, since when we are, Death has not come, and when death has come, we are not.
The combat is sort of like FPS combat, but its slower paced than shooters so its not hard. Unless you plan on doing PvP, then you might have some problems.
They have a 7-day refer a friend type trial.
