Best Male Video: Beck - E Pro (Kanye West took it)
Best Female Video: Kelly Clarkson - Since U Been Gone
Best Group Video: U2 - Vertigo
Best Rap Video: eewww...no idea
Best R&B Video: eewwww...no idea again (Alicia Keys)
Best Hip-Hop Video: one again...eewwww, lol
Best Dance Video: didn't like any of the nominees...so not sure
Best Rock Video: Weezer - Beverly Hills (Green Day took it)
Best Pop Video: Ashlee Simpson - Pieces of Me

MTV2 Award: hmm, that's a hard one, either The Bravery with An Honest Mistake, or Fall Out Boy with Sugar we're Going Down

Best Male Video: Probably Usher - Caught up. However seeing as the only one of those which is in the video of the year category is Kanye does that mean something?
Best female Vid: definitely Mariah Carey - We belong together
Best group: Probably U2 - Vertigo but for me that is very close between them, Destinys child and Black Eyed Peas.
Best Rap: My money is down on Game hate it or love it. All the other artists for that imo have made some other better videos in the past year.
Best R&B: Usher n Alicia Keys - My boo (didn't that win something at the VMA's last year? it's been out a heck of a long time now.
Best Hip-Hop vid: Snoop Dogg will probably win.
Best dance vid: Missy Elliot - Lose control. although it wouldn't surprise me if Destinys child takes it.
Best Rock: Foo Fighters - Best of you. I don't listen to rock music but i do like that song
Best pop vid: Well I won't go into a discussion of what actually is pop music and why this section should be filled with rap and r&b artists, i'm going with Jesse McCartney. Im hoping that this gets him some more money so he can retire and never make another song or video, just so i don't have to see or hear him again.
Best New artist:....... I've got no idea
Breakthrough vid: Im not sure what this is judged on... All i can say is that it won't be Sarah McLachlan but I'll throw the money down on Gorillaz Feel Good Inc.
Best direction: haven't seen that White Stripes video, of the others i'll say that think Green Day might take this one.
Best Choreography: defiantly Missy Elliot on this one.
Best Special Effects: Either Gorillaz or U2... but i'd put the money on Gorillaz - Feel Good Inc
Best Art Direction: I've got no idea what this award is for. Just for the hell of it I'll say Gwen... probably for the same reasons as I suggest for Jesse McCartney winning.
Best Editing: Yet another random award... Green Day maybe?
Cinematography: I'll throw the money on U2 for this one.
Best video game soundtrack: Def Jam FFNY: I actually haven't played it or heard it but i'm going on a blind vote just because Def Jam Vendetta's soundtrack was the best I've seen.

90% of all music on mtv stinks: for example Destiny's Child is just some annoying, grinding, monotone beat that comes out when u push some buttons in the studio and then u add some meaningles wailing on top of it. There u have what all R&B or whatever its called sound like on MTV.
I did like the Franz Ferdinand performance on one of those shows, cant remeber which show it was.
Yay now I get to hear about this all day at school tommorow.

yea mtv is a bunch bullshit but its ok becouse when you have nothing to do at 3 or 4 in the morning they have good rock for like 3 or 4 hours and its pretty good too. the vmas were ok a couple years, other than that they blow
I personally can't stand the VMAs. Most of the music today sucks and I really don't care who wins or loses.
Does anyone else in the entire word just hate Coldplay with a passion? For some reason I just can't stand their music or them. To me it's like friggin easy listening music for adults, so slow and lame.
Ugh, I saw the DVD playing in a store of the lead singer and he's playing guitar on one of their simple pre-school riffs and he's dancin around playin guitar and argh it filled me with such a violent hatred. I've been playing guitar most of my life, even had a semi-succesful band back in the day and I am quite a peaceful person by nature and a lover of ALL music. Except Coldplay, I just hate them!
Generally, no music from the last few years, least of all anything that recieves air-time on MTV, deserves an award.

Really, I don't mind rap but the stuff they are showing now is horrible. Why is it that they all have to sing about girls, sex, drugs, and being pimps? Why is it that all the females try to be Beyonce wannabes? Bring back the good stuff!
I don't like R.Kelly and it almost blinded me because even tho he is a sick dude who pees on girls to get his jollies off his trapped in the closet is magnificent, I wish more ppl would take a cue from him and do music videos like that and don't hate me cus I like R.Kelly's songs.It's jus like Michael Jackson I think he is a lil weird but has good music from back in the ol days. I dunno what some of you are talkin bout coldplay is horrible but I think they are a good band and Chemical Romance has a couple good songs but their lead singer has suntin wrong with his mouth, Killers are ok to watch now come on. Dont kill them that much.

Mainstream music sucks.
Don't give money to terrible music artists that strive off of photoshoots and publicity that make millions a year.
Take a few moments of your time and look on the internet for other music that isn't on T.V. , there are hundreds of aspiring artists out there that put all of their time into the music, and only the music.
DAMMMMMMMM!!!!! Eva Longoria looks smokin hot in that bikini thingy, and Jessica Alba looks hot to along with most of the other hot females there.

Pretty much, yeah. Not the good stuff though. Just the mainstream junk we see on tv.
My friend just saw coldplay live. He doesn't really like them but he got free tickets. None of us like Coldplay, I don't consider them a bad band, just not my type and a bit too repetitive. Although, my friend said it was the best performance he has seen in a show. Since they have the money, they could afford alot of special affects. But they also did play well, the piano was louder, and overall they preformed very well instrumentally. I hated Coldplay a couple years ago, but now I have a bit more respect for them, due to their musical talent.
I watched 2 minutes of the VMA's, Jessica and Ashley didn't look that hot, too fake. So I turned it off.
On the mtv website I see that Greenday has won seven, yes 7, awards. They really deserve that.
And of course you can't forget Fall Out Boy, one award for them selves. Bands that are totally revolved around the vocals should definately win awards! Instruments don't matter at all!
