  At the upper levels you can get gold drops. They are rare but there.

  The world, after about 20ish and progressivly so after that becomes much more open. You can certainly explore. There were treasure chests in the beta but it seems like they removed them in the launched product. So, you can explore but all you really will see is interesting things. Or at least "things". If you think they are interesting then "good!"

  I have to say that you should get into your 20's and have at least one BAM fight (big "ass" monsters) before you can judge the game. Unless you roll on a pvp server then you will see more interesting action about lvl 11. Unless you are ganked by someone many levels above you and you hate that sort of thing.
