Mind zynga, they manage to out "evil" the usual suspects that normaly get the rap.
I have a feeling French court will tell them where to go, patent trolling is no where near as profitable in the eu as the us.

I don't normally side with Zynga but I have to in this case.
If somebody decided to create a game called SimTown, you would assume that it was part of EA's SIM series, right? It would be dishonest and misleading for a company to deceive customers like this and obviously, Zyna is well known for their 'ville games. FArmville, Frontierville, Cityville.... I think it's a legitimate claim.
all Zynga ever does is see other games, copies them, and puts them on facebook.
its to bad you cant sue over concepts/idea of a game, otherwise the makes of harvestmoon would sue zynga for cloning it and calling it farmville.

Just more proof that patents and trademarks need to die. The sooner we kill this shit the sooner the world can advance faster. We're stiffled constantly because somebody 9million years ago once thought of something a bit like that thing that guy used in the other thing which did that whatever it was. Doesn't matter it can be used to dry tears and cure cancer...
If you look at the pic in that article, it seems clear the French company is copying more than just the word 'ville'.
Remember that you are obligated to defend trademarks if you want to keep them.
Zynga are still scum-sucking swine, but in this case they do have good reasons to sue.
