I know I'm the only one who can answer that, but I have a question. If I have no interest in PvP...at all. Not a shred of PvP liking here. Will I still enjoy the game? Will there be enough to do without the PvP? Even at high lvl?
You will have a blast right up until endgame, at which point it will come to a screching halt when you find out you have nothing to do.
Of course you might play the game, try some pvp and become hooked like I did. The pvp system makes it very easy to get into pvp, even if you die, you lose nothing but a 2 minute walk from the graveyard so big whoop.
If you play, pick a Normal server. WoW definitely has PvP as a primary feature, not an afterthought. It is quite central to its game play. I actually think you'd be missing out if you ignored that side of it altogether. But if you wish you can avoid it on the Normal servers most of the time. There's a few quests that will leave you with the potential to "flag" yourself -- enabling others to attack you for a short time, but they are definitely the minority.
Give it a shot.
EDIT: None of the servers, however, are open PvP. Your adversaries must always be the other faction, so you always sort of know when you need to be careful and watch your back.

WoW is a PvE game, that added a PvP system (which in comparison to most mmo pvp system's is horrible). Killing someone or being killed as said above does nothing, just a walk back to your body from the graveyard. Winning BG does nothing and effects the game in no way, how can a pvp game have a system where thats the case?
Forgot to add, if you don't care about pvp, then imo theres no better pve game out there if you like getting items.
PvP wont be annoying your PvE experience on a PvE server. But beyond that, it really depend what you expect from the game.
I would call WoW my worst 1 night experience.
But I guess if I didnt know EQ before, I would have like it a lot...but it fart just like EQ, it burp just like EQ, and it arrive late after work just like EQ...I was not able to bear those defaults.

If you play almost every day, search forums for the hints on the best "uberlewt" and only join parties that have the perfect make-up then you will probably blitz through the game. If you consider level 60 a goal to be reached, and not the end of an enjoyable journey, then it might not have enough for you. If you have ever gotten mad at people in the game for not taking it "serious enough" then it is probably not for you.
I play a few times a week, group with anyone that is not acting stupid, and often do quests that provide little reward, just of the fun of it. I was with a group in an instance dungeon where half the party did not know their role, but I stayed with them cause we were just all having fun and dying all the time is not that bad in this game. If I stick with one character it will take me about 6 months to get it to level 60. Anybody who says they got to 60 in a month of "casual play" does not know the meaning of casual. I often get on for an hour or less, and still feel like I have accomplished something. If this is you, then I think you will like it.
I have never PVPed in WOW, and don't plan on doing any unless my guild does a raid and I happen to join in. If you don't want to PVP go to a Normal or RolePlay server. I see enemies all the time and the most we will do is toss some good-natured insult at each other with e-motes.
One question, can you tell me what is so bad about the WoW pvp ?
Honnestly, i cant recall any game with a system that can be called better (L2 was a horrible grind and gank fest, and GW is just plain boring, DAOC might have a point tough, but wait till Siege weapons and the like enter wow). For an additional feature i belive that the pvp is really fun in this game, and theres a purpose to it... if you dont want to farm your armor you can just gain it trough pvp'ing, since there's reward's for factoin and rank.

Yes. Just make sure you dont rush to 60. Ive been playing wow on and off since the beginning, and my top char is 47. I have around 12 chars, but i play only about 6 of them. Each one feels like a brand new game, so i dont see myself getting to 60 anytime soon this or maybe next year. This game is a gift from heavens for casual players like me. If you are hardcore with 10-15 hours daily, heck even then its worth it. Youd have several level 60chars in 2-3 months but its still worth it IMO.
I am the type of player where I like to do everything and anything from time to time.

Level 60 Hunter, Level 60 Paladin, level 46 Rogue! Then I'm leveling my level 24 Priest to 60 once my Rogue is 60 with epic armor.
You dont find something severely wrong with that logic? :P
What an interesting game.....grind to 60.......to grind to 60 again? I thought there was some special sauce to WoW that I just "didnt get" that was making it so popular, apparently I was wrong. It is utterly pointless :P
This thread interests me to as I also am not a huge fan of pvp. Not only that but I like to solo almost all the time. Does WOW lend itself to a solo player from level 1 - 60?

Omg you didnt hear their is a new reason to level to 60 man its the newest kind of pet with .5 attk speed and crits for 1000 you get it once you hit 60, 3 times heres a screenie
(yeah i know i linked it in matrix online board's i just thought this would be a good time to do it.)
Na but all sillyness aside WoW is very solo friendly if you dont want to group you dont have to i like that about Wow. Youl have to group for instances but other then that if you wanna blaze solo you can.
wow is a pvp oriented game.... those of you who disagree obviously have limited experience with mmorpg's. can you still have fun and not pvp? sure but it is not the type of game where you can progress with the same charecter for years like eq (now thats a pve game ). there are normal and roleplaying servers where people have plenty of fun not pvping at all. but there is also batttlegrounds on those servers so people can still pvp all they like without the risk of being "ganked".

Well, its realy about opinions. I personaly think WoW is not a PvP oriented game because you can get to 60 and stay there without PvPing at all. There are no tangible rewards for PvPing in WoW, aside for armor/weapons at them oment, so PvP is not the main aspect of this game. GW or Planetside is PvP oriented games, in fact, Planetside is pure PvP becuase it has no PvE aspect whatsoever. I would say that PvP for WoW is jut a cool addon, its not necessary, but its cool to have and to take part in. The WoW storyline is heavy with PvP but unfortunately (or fortunately) they havent implemented it to the extend it reads from the storyline.
I am the type of player where I like to do everything and anything from time to time.

Most of my logged in time on World of Warcraft is doing Alterac Valley PVP farming honor or Warsong Gultch PVP(if we're actually winning on the Alliance side). I'de have to say it's a fucking joke. The PVP system is disgustingly annoying, and the honor system is the type that only supports players who are online 24/7(a.k.a. the kid that lives with his parents that does shitty in school, doesn't have a job, able to play 24/7). For us casaul gamers, even if our whole play time for that day is devoted to PVP, we still can't compete in honor rankings with the hardcore people. About the PVE, it is a joke as well. Molten Core is done, currently, by only the top-notch guilds on servers (1-5 guilds maybe) and many of them are probably not recruiting anymore. Out of the guilds that do MC probably 5% of them kill Ragnaros. Black Wing Layer is done by like 1 guild per server, only the 31337357.

Not true, there is plenty to do in WoW. On my server, Shadowsong, there are 5 groups just on the horde side that run MC, we just went through last night and killed Golemagg and Sulfuron to follow up killing 4 bosses on Saturday. The PvE endgame is fun and challenging, assuming you're going with groups that are only attempting it for the first times and not in *farming mode*. There is another new 20-person instance coming with the next patch that will only further add to the fun. I PvP all the time, but lately with all the PvE things to do I don't have nearly as much time for it as I used to.
Just a side note, casual players do NOT deserve to compete with hardcore gamers on the same level, Infinitie, get over it and move on. Just like at work, if you work 30 hours a week and your co-worker works 60 he DESERVES more than you do.
Just because every car has similar features doesn't mean that Ferraris are copies of Model Ts. Progress requires failure and refining.

IMO WoW is primarily a pve based game. On normal and rp servers pvp is consentual.
