Since we ran across this game 2 words got us hooked "Dragon riding"... and today I ran across a page that was an interview with Stephane Quilichini that states minimum requirement for internet connection was DSL.. With further exploring I found on the official website http://www.darkandlight.net/faq/index.php?action=artikel&cat=304249&id=261&artlang=en where it states "At the moment, the game can be played with a GeForce4 video card. The game already runs with a 56k modem or ISDN." Confusing right? So which is it?
I live in an area where high speed internet of any type is not available yet (though I call monthly to check for any new plans to expand to my STREET) so all I have is Dial Up. I have been able to play every MMO I have ever tried to play EXCEPT Horizons where lag and long loading screens kept me from keeping a connection. I expect lag with dial up in times of high population and excessive special effects but for the most part life is lag free.

It says in the faq that 56k can be used. Maybe they made some improvements in the communication between client and server.

I have never come across any game that doesnt work with dialup..
ANY mmorpg should work perfectly fine with dialup. They are not quake 3 arena action games.
Theres VERY LITTLE information being sent back and forth in a mmorpg.
