    Question... where are it's missile launchers? Catapults have two LRM-15's + 4 med. lasers, not what looks like autocannons??!!

    I believe this is the Katapult if I remember correctly.     Modified version of the Catapult replacing the overhead turrets with beam weapon hardpoints

    Im hoping between this and Planetside 2 I will have all I need for a long time. Its looking great, I just hope the mechanics and gameplay live up to the Mechwarrior franchise.

    i dont see why there couldnt be weapon variants of Catapult anyhow.

    Yes there are many pics in that gallery and yes there is a catapult in there. There are also others in there...As for weapon load out on the catapult some are compulsory but many weapon sets are not...Though I dont think your gonna get dual ppc's on it.

    It's easily answered why this Catapult is showing no missile racks on it's shoulders, it's the PPC variant.

    Every mech in the Battletech world has variations, meaning you can use 1 frame for multiple roles.

    This is a CPLT-K2 (afaik)

    In MWO you'll be able to chance the weapon loadouts, which will also reflect on how the mech looks. So having a PPC in a Missile launcher bay won't only be functional, it will have a turret sticking out rather then missile racks)

    wow I somehow missed this games announcement!

    I am actually stoked about this...I hope this matches the gameplay of the early battletech centers of the early 90s more than that of Mechwarrior 3-4 since this is going to be massive multi-player. If so...booyah!

    Man those battletech competitions were amazing and ahead of their time...this can be the break I need in MMO entertainment...too much MEH going on in the MMORPG world right now.

    IGN has released a video preview, there is some more information through that.

    Other then that, it will follow the Battletech Tabletop rules as close as possible.

    For instance, no more 1km range on LRM's that MW4 had rather, 650m like in canon rules.
