What you're all seeing and playing is probably a month old build. You really think you're playing the latest build that's currently at the Funcom offices? If you do, you're clueless.
I make spreadsheets at work - I don't want to make them for the games I play.
I cannot remember the last time I played an mmorpg strictly for the smooth general and combat animation. I tend to play for the interesting themes, skill systems, customizations, immersion and atmosphere. Something like combat and general animations are usually worked on well into a mmos launch. But the other things I named are usually core features of a given mmo and don't usually get worked on right away.
If an mmo can grab my interest at first impressions, I tend to overlook minor things like animations. Especially as long as the trigger and response times are good. Which btw in TSW they are as far as I'm concerned.

Same old lie.
I remember people said the same thing about swtor beta and guess what, we were playing latest build.

Or, yeah it was a month old build, but not that much changes in a month. Few bug fixes and tweaks here and there, but nothing most players would even notice. The kind of changes people hope to see take a hell of a lot longer than that.
When I want a single-player story, I'll play a single-player game. When I play an MMO, I want a massively multiplayer world.
What I see is pretty polished. I would not mind if the game went live tomorrow (just put in blood magic first).
You guys are extremely predictable. I could have written most of the posts in this thread back in 2009. It is inevitable that gamers jump on a chance to later say "I told you so!" and there will always be an opportunity for that if you say a game need more polish before launch. Match that with Funcom's reputation, and it is easy to see how I could predict this thread in 2009.
The game is close to ready. I don't think 5 weeks is gonna be a problem. I also predict for June 19th massive "Ha-Haaaaa You FAILED!!!!!" threads and "I TOLD YOU SO!!!!, I F¤#&¤%&ing BEGGED you to delay launch, but would you listen, blah, blah, blah".
Seriously, do you never bore yourself with your predictability? Give me 100$ a day, and I'll write all your posts for you
Ah yes , and the "its AWESOME SAUCE, LAUNCH IT NOW" fanboy crowd isn't predictable either eh ?
Thankfully the devs have stated they want to hear what people don like and why etc , and have told the ones trying to shout them down , in a nutshell , to stfu , they learn more from negative criticism than fanboy drivel.
Just hoping they pay more than lipservice to those remarks they have made.
I look at it this way...If FUncom cant finish a graphics upgrade for AO in 7 years, how are they going to revamp anything in TSW in 5 weeks....Like most betas, what you see at this point is what you are going to get...I dont know how many times I have done betas right before release, and players will always be spewing "well its all going to be fixed by release".......

The fanboy mantra of any game is
1=It's beta , you can't judge it , they have a magical perfect build in secret to be released only at launch
2=It's launch , you can't judge it at launch , always expect problems at launch , they will fix it in the next patch
3=1.1 first major patch , Patches always have major problems , let them fix it , you can''t expect it to work on release day of patch
4= 1.2 or 1.3 = the Jesus patch that has to fix the Jesus build that was supposed to be perfect at launch = We don't want you here anyway , just quit , the population is growing , servers are packed , the crickets you hear are just on your server
and on , and on and on.
Sadly this was a game I really was looking forward to , I would have thought Funcom had learned their lesson from AO and AoC , this game has awesome potential , but I cant watch an awkward character do sluggish combat day after day , no matter how good the atmosphere and skill system is , which I give them credit on.
And honestly , I'm seeing more reactions like this from multiple other boards that have mmorpg sections/large amount of fans.

*cough, cough* miracle patch *cough, cough*
simple answer NO, if you don't like how it is now then you might as well pass on it
They might polish and tweak it abit but there isnt gonna be a complete overhaul...

Not gonna happen.

Majority of reactions seems to be combat is terrible , animations terrible , world interesting , but not enjoying it.
Sadly.
