Oh man, indeed it was nice reading. ::::04::

I thought the guy was a total moron. Really to think its something special to gain peoples trust and screw them over in a game is pathetic. Guiding Hand Social Club is dedicated to that kind of crap. If you're going to play eve at least do something that takes skill or at least a little effort as scamming people takes neither.

Hey!.. I resent that!. I was GHSC for a long time... trust me, it takes WORK to scam off an entire corp.. its no easy task. And seeing as we've done it over an over again?... thats not luck, thats skill by the other members there.

    GHSC, latest

Thats hard work for a under 20 member corp

    If ignorance is bliss....

Just started reading it, I'm on part 5, this is a really good story. Makes me think about doing trade routes, all I've been doing is mining.

Getting to the scam part, damn did they go through alot of trouble to set it all up. This must have really screwed with the EVE economy and I wonder how many people canceled their accounts over it.

I think it's a made up story, good read tho and it could happen in the game!

Infact it did happen ;) People have become wise now though and have learnt not to trust anyone in the EVE galaxy!

As long as no game exploits are used, I'm all for adding some flavor to the game. The cool part of any mmo is that they allow you to be something you're not in rl. You can choose to be a saint or a sinner, and games like Eve that fascilitate it with game mechanics make playing mmos a better experience.

If you got scammed, learn from it and plot your revenge, or move on.

It doesnt take any work c'mon all you do is act like their friend and fly beside them for a bit. Take an interest in the direction of the corp and any good corp would promote you and give you more privileges. All it really shows is that your two faced and cant be trusted.

Nope. But i know of you guys and i think you overrate how hard it is to be thieves in eve. You play on the nature of people and screw them. Theres no way to stop what you do. If your a corp and you want to promote people and people act like they're a part of the corp theres nothing you can. I suppose you can give nobody access to the important things but that means your going to spend your time doling out bpo's and t2 supplies and wheres the fun in that. The short of it is you hurt the game. I'm glad you get your rocks off by acting like peoples friends and then screwing them over but its nothing.. absolutely nothing.. to be proud of in any way. GHSC is a joke. Come out to 0.0 sometime.

I'm not saying its wrong because they exploited or anything. As far as i know everything they do is legit within the game mechanics. It just takes no talent, no skill, little effort and alot of lies.

I'll agree there, to say it takes skill, NO WAY. Not like you are actaully face to face with the people you're scamming and you have to look them in the eye, you can fake anything over the computer.

    exactly what I was thinking.

If that hiest didn't take any skill then all the more shame on the corporation that allowed it to happen.

I showed the link to a couple of work mates and they now plan on checking out the 14 Day Trial. Player driven content like this adds another dimension of excitement to the game.

Btw Copeland, I also showed them your recruitment video. (I think that was yours anyway, lol) Very cool!

No, of course you're going to arouse suspicion, it takes a 'keen' brain to figure out how to not provide details of what you're planning. They're called con artists and that's why people watch movies about them is because a lot of detail goes into it. Personally, myself, I welcome the people who did thisbecause it takes a lot of skill to pull off a heist this large.

So your saying it takes skill to lie and not get caught?

    Are you female?

Well back on topic here, i think the story is very good. I read it a long time ago and vividly remember the entire thing. Eve has had some very interesting history, youll never hear somehting like this from WoW. The best you get is "a bunch of lv 60s killed this massive dragon sweet"

In Eve you have stuff like - a 2000 player alliance went to war with another alliance, completely player driven. hundreds died in the war, stations were destoryed, territory lines moved, and the ripple effect it has on anyone near the area.  This is why eve is better than any mmorpg!
