Nope, e-balance is only used for Blizzard products like buying more WoW sub time. Clever little devils aren't they ? You can still sub to WoW and not log into the game!
B.Net balance still has a long way to go, especially for buying game time. You are better off cashing out then paying for a sub or gametime that way, despite the cut that Blizz take, rather than wait for everything to finally be integrated.
I've 'heard' that 3rd party buyers and sellers will act on anonymous player's behalf, so the black market is already alive and well. Blizzard are going to be a bag of nerves at RMAH launch lol. It will be a way of beating the $250 selling limit on rare items, if they don't get ripped off by the third party marketeers.
Blizzard can generate all items they want, all they need is a " fake player" to sell this generated stuff on rmah at exorbitant prices.. now think about some very rich ppl that money is not a problem wanting to dominate the virtual world of the game..

I don't get how you can dominate pve based games.. You'll prob do fine without ever using the rmah. Only thing I am worried about is I am in canada, so I kinda get screwed, I am not intersted in saving bnet balance, if I can't get it transfered out to my canadian bank via paypal, I just won't use the rmah at all, because i'll have no use for it.
Being a pessimist is a win-win pattern of thinking. If you're a pessimist (I'll admit that I am!) you're either:
A. Proven right (if something bad happens)
or
B. Pleasantly surprised (if something good happens)

pvp will be on in no time, then a pvp arena ranking/stats, ppl linking his gear even on pve..
The real kicker, the icing on the cake... is that Paypal is the least secure way to do anything online.
Before I found this out, I used to use Paypal and Ebay all the time. Then, one fateful day, an Apple IOS developer who lives 2000 miles away stole $3000 out of my bank account and bought several hundred copies of his own game. My account only had ~$50 in it before hand, so you can imagine the disaster that ensued when I was overdrafted by more than $3000.
First I called the bank, and then I called the cops, and then I called Paypal. When I called Paypal, they apologized that someone hacked them. I told them, "If you are in the BUSINESS of SECURITY and you LET people get HACKED, then WTF DO WE GIVE YOU MONEY FOR!!??!?? One month and 15 trips to the police department later, I got most of my money back. I have not used Paypal since. I always tell peoople to avoid Paypal at all costs... you can lose your home over shit like this.

I find the system retarded. I think most people would only pay about 3 bucks for the highest tier items. I'm not saying some people wouldn't pay a lot more, I know they would, but I think those people are a tiny minority.
Outside of those really good items, everything else is probably worth less than 1 dollar to most people. But I don't even think you can list items for under 1.25 or something, which pretty much removes the real money market for 99% of in game items.
It seems like blizzard is just completely unrealistic when it comes to pricing.
Well, they live in California and they're multi-billionaires. I don't expect them to remember much about pricing for the "ordinary folk." After all.....most of us are the 99 percent.....they're not.
This RMAH thing is not the reason I decided to take a pass on this game, the beta reviews are, however....it definitely played a part. So after having thoroughly enjoyed Diablo 1 and D2 LOD Online, I am now passing on this de-Diabloized game. Maybe I'll change my mind if stellar reviews arrive post launch, and yes, I mean on this site. The reviews here tend to be on the harsh side (for forum members) and on the more positive side for staff. I take both, put them in a blender, and call it good. So we'll see if I end up playing. I hope to, but I don't want another pale reflection of what a game COULD have been. No thanks.
Not allowing a "cash out," so to speak, just keeps more of the money in Blizzard's pockets. Not hard to understand why they'd want some restrictions.

There are ways around it. Firstly, I opened a bank account with no overdraft just for paypal, with a different bank. After I withdraw I transfer it into my real bank account. When I want to buy things I transfer my money into the other bank account first. It's a little more effort but most transfers are instant nowadays.
I don't suffer from insanity, I enjoy every minute of it.

That would have taken out some of the sting of what happened to me, but it still would have been a matter for police and you'd still have to explain and trace over $3000 worth of transactions.
Basically, you are never safe with paypal. You're safter just sending people your bank numbers directly.

Yeah that would work. It would have to be a weapon or armor or something so that you didn't get hit with the 15% commodity fee again.

Well
You have Torchlight 2
Its at least as good as D3
I don't think that will be the opinion for most D3 purchasers.
They'll tweak the drop rate when they need money, there is fine line between gaming . and banking
Could it that the combination of those two word is ganking ?
Diablow 3, it sucks ...
Good I hope the prices are low , I'll probably be buying gems mainly because they will take far too long to make myself.
Then I can easily farm inferno and sell the junk to you n00bs for $5- 20 each , and the cream of the loot for $50+
