Yummy looking.
Forest looks a little Stonetalon Mountains (wow), but that's probably because you don't get to see much variety in the vid.
It does have some old-days flashback inspiring qualities (that's a good thing).
More vid please. Noncombat maybe?
Self-pity imprisons us in the walls of our own self-absorption. The whole world shrinks down to the size of our problem, and the more we dwell on it, the smaller we are and the larger the problem seems to grow.
looks f*ing sweet to me. I always loved Battletech/Mechwarrior stuff.

I will play no more MMORPGs until somethign good comes out!
I want this in my life now! Now now now!
Looks decent, but the gameplay looks like it will get boring fast with the battles only being mechs, unless there's a deep meta game of territory control with some sandbox elements to support the battle logistics I don't see this being as deep and varied as Planetside 2 online battles.
TAKE ALL MY MONEY DAMN YOU!!

I know the combat is going to be great, I wanna see if they have any noncombat features to make it a real mmo with lasting fun.
Mess with the best, Die like the rest
i wonder how they will deal with the aimbot problem online shooters have
nvm it looks like they just made aiming really easy and probably with a built in miss % to balance it out
the combat looks very fun, hopefully this is just not a "loby based battle ground fps death match" kind of game.
i always thought Perpetuum should have had a combat like this.
Release date?
All those missiles flying, makes me want a vulture badly. might have to settle for a Catapult though.

when this game launches, the internet will break, because of murphy's law.
I want this so bad. And to all you who are like "this better have something to do other than combat between mechs.." and such, you don't get it. The fun part of mechwarrior games is being in a giant robot with mass amounts of weaponry and strategically using your mech and those weapons to defeat another team of mechs. if you don't enjoy blowing off arms and legs and watching robots explode from a barrage of missiles, I don't understand why you would play this at all.
Yes, it would be AWESOME if this was somehow going to be a vast open world sandbox MMORPG with MECHS being used for main-combat and transportation (like a huge mount), which, essentially, is what the universe of Mechwarrior is on paper. However, mechwarrior fans are older now, and less of us are in the mainstream % that marketters are paying attention to. So, the fact that ANY mechwarrior game at all is being developed is a blessing.
I also dare to say that many mechwarrior fans wouldn't give 2 sh!t$ about crafting, gathering, gear chasing, raiding, boss fights, gather X, kill X quests and definitely not running around in some social hub as a tiny human when they could be out in a 25-100 ton fighting robot, blowing eachother up.
As far as i see it, it will all be about gathering Cbills.
As long as you gather cash, you can slowly get different mechs and upgrade them for different roles.
And as time progresses (As the game starts in 3049 just before the clan invasions) Clan tech will eventually be made available which can be used to further upgrade designs and play with layouts of the mecht.
Ofcourse, the Cbills will be neccesary to keep upgrading.
As far as we now know... attack enemy bases to take them over and expand territory while defending your own to keep it from happening to your own faction etc.
I, for one, can't wait to see what this game will include and how Piranha will deliver content.
You are free, to do as we tell you.
i like topoint out that this is indeed a "lobby" type game and in no way shape or form a "true" MMO and absolutly not a MMORPG.
This have been a good conversation
Nobody claimed it was....
One guy in the thread said "he hoped" it would evolve into something like a sandbox MMORPG, but other than that not a single poster ever even mentioned the phrase MMORPG.
Are you just posting for the sake of it? Trying to start conflict? Which is it?
You know a game will be good when all the devs have to do is post a simple game play vid..no commentary, no artificial enhancements....just let the game speak for itself...and it does.
I am going to play you!
I was very glad to see some jumppacks in there
Duke Nukem's Vaporware Fulfillment Act
"After an antipated title has been unfulfilled by one (or several) excessively long stints as vaporware, the universe will pause for a long moment before the users can burst into a carefully disbelieving smattering of applause".
"Patrons waiting in credit card queue with an axe hidden behind their backs (in case the devs screw us again, as antipated) may be asked to step out ot the line by the management."

Newsletter said "MechWarrior Online gets a big reveal in the form of an awesome new trailer! "
What exactly was the big reveal? I was expecting a relase date or something. Maybe I missed it, but I didnt see a reveal of any sort. Nothing that we haven't seen already from all the other videos.
There is no "out of cockpit" character for players. Only a mech. Which puts it on par with EVE when it first came out.
From watching the various videos now out, it looks like they've gone away from the idea of maybe having you start as a pilot of a small mech and upgrade yourself up to Assault at a higher level. Instead, each of the Four Classes - light, medium, heavy and assault - function somewhat like their own version of the Holy Trinity.
So each of the classes is an essential member of any squad, with maybe the medium being the most common "workhorse" in a team. As you progress you upgrade whatever class of mech you're specialising in and maybe the skills that relate to it. Of course, now I"m starting to get into speculation.
I'd like it to be a bit more. With some exploration elements and some Out of Mech adventure (finding Star League Caches, policing mercenary bandits, doing intrigue and hey, who is this Kerensky chick?) but that can come later, perhaps....
Comes out in December according to the videos I've watched.
