Why can't I post on Diablo 3 Forum at Blizzard?

AvanahAvanah Member RarePosts: 1,627

I bought Diablo 3 yet my account is "Inactive" or "Expired License" and it seems to be linked to WoW. Why?

I do not play WoW, but I did pay for D3, activated the D3 game on same account, got the Authenticator yet they will not let me post on the D3 Forums.

I submitted a ticket as I do not know how to be able to post. I find it disheartening that they link D3 to the WoW account.

I will not pay $14.99 to activate an old WoW account just so I can post on the Diablo 3 forums.

Any other insight please?

Thanks

Hm, I believe it has to do with the fact that you do not have a WoW or Starcraft character on an active account.

I believe that once D3 launches, this will change.

I purchased D3 as well and I do not enjoy the restriction anymore than you do.

It has nothing to do with the battletag, and everything to do with a character being attached to your account.

You could post right now if you had a WoW character.

You could post right now if own StarCraft II on the same account.

You could post right now if you had a Diablo 3 character.

You could also post right now if you were in the D3 closed beta, as it associates your beta account with the forum.

As it currently stands, you meet none of those criteria, and as such cannot post.

I'm in the same boat, because when I purchased D3 I linked it to a new battle net account instead of my old account. Without a character to post from we cannot post or start new threads.

Have to wait till the 15th when you can create a D3 character, and then you'll be able to post.

In my experience, this is not the case. My WoW sub is inactive, but I do have an SC2 game registered to my b.net. As of right now, I cannot post.

I have SC2 on my other account and can post just fine on the D3 forums.

They may very well implement the ability to do that, but as it stands right now the only indication of your battletag that you will see on the forums is if you edit your post or thread.

yeah its etremely damn stupid, especially when the god forsaken launcher doesnt work for 50% of people trying to predownload it.

I wish i went to the store and bought the boxed edition, Blizzards fails hard on this.
