WE NOW OWN THE GAME but now u must wait fo it to even start working properly!
Now maybe blizz is kicking themselfs for not having a single player! I for one havent played with ayone and dont plann on it untill i finished the game solo myself first....

ya..cuz who woulda thought a pc game with online play wouldnt have any hic-ups or bumps on release..im mean rly! geesh maybe if the other 3 million people would stop trying to log in we could play =*(
good things come to people that wait
my only beef is why you cant play single player sep. from the online ..but heh *shrug* most of these things work better after a couple of weeks
I pre-order to play at mid-night release with friends. I was gonna just skip pre-ordering because I don't like the 5$ gamestop charges to hold the game for you and I wanted this box to go on top of my D1 & D2 boxes. Ended up not having a CD-key in my box.
The next day I take a sick day so I can go to gamestop and try and hassle them to give me another copy because mine didn't have a Cd key. 2 hours later I finally get my new copy. put my key in play for 30 minutes boom. servers down all day.
They got me for 5$
Yes I played SWTOR.
I just hope that the person who is actually responsible for this cluster fuck mess, is being escorted from Blizz Central by security as I type this.
They knew the how many pre-orders were sold. There are no excuses!

It's almost as fun as the game.
on a side note if you think this is rage, check out the emergency maintenance thread. http://us.battle.net/d3/en/forum/topic/5051765603?page=243
The last update start at around page number 181, when they announce it to 3:30. It blew up with rage.
Yes I played SWTOR.
you do realize that they don't charge you an extra $5, the $5 goes toward the final cost...
Who would thought a single player game with co-op mode be render unplayble because of server issue....
I'm not going to hate on D3, but I can emphasize with people that can't even play single player because of this "always online" nonsense.
For those people, it literally does nothing but take away from the game, and it's obvious that the feature is purely to protect Blizzard. I see no reason how the always online requirement would ever be good for the players.
Oh well...hopefully D3 is a wonderful game that will make me forget about its always online crap. can't wait to play it tonight .
Are you team Azeroth, team Tyria, or team Jacob?
They just locked it again lol.

Meh. I knew this would happen, so I mentally prepared myself for it. Does that mean I'm happy? No, but I've managed to stay cool so far. Blizzard does seem to be on top of fixing things, and has been very communicative thus for, so I give them credit where it's due.
Now if things are like this by the time my weekend rolls around, I will most likely be frothing at the mouth and spewing profanity nonstop whilst throwing heavy objects about the room. So let's hope (even if only for the sake of my furniture) that things will get sorted in due time.
I think it sucks that a single player game requires online connectivity. However, you knew that when you bought the game so I don't have any sympathy for you. If you know going in that it requires you to connect to a server, you had to know that with a game this popular and with millions trying to play it the minute it goes live, that there would be issues. And if you didn't know that, then use this as a lesson for the future. Launch days are always a clusterfuck for massive titles like these.
Actually no I didn't haha. Learning is half the battle I guess.
Yes I played SWTOR.
You know, I felt the same way LAST NIGHT... and still waiting.
Something like this should have been fixed during the development/beta period. Blizzard is not some up and coming new dev company; they are Blizzard! To sell a product advertized as complete and finished and then have this kind of debacle. Not only is it infuriating, it goes to show that Blizzard is not the same company as it used to be.
Just curious, where did you get your technical degree again?
Honestly, do people really believe that things are so simple?

So, exactly how do you 'fix' an influx of millions of people to a server that you can only anticipate the numbers for with backup before that influx of people cripples/crashes them or causes a different problem?

Typical for blizzard, people shouldn't be surprised it happens everytime!
People act like it's the end of the world. By now everyone should be used to patches on release day, sure not all games need to do this but enough have that it's that uncommon of a thing. By this time tomorrow or the next day after everyones been playing for a day or 2 straight none of this will matter and most of the people bitching won't even remember how terrible today was for them and how they survived without D3 for a few hours.
Chill out, grab a beer and/or a smoke and it will be up before you know it.

Honestly, it is that simple.
And further, I don't have a Tech degree. I have an MBA. As such, I hire and FIRE Techs!
Any other questions?
You would think that a company with as much experiance and money as Blizzard would have had their shit together. It's they're brilliant idea to require you to be online while playing single player.
Kind of ironic seeing they're marketing for D3 at the bottom of this page with the big bold print "Available Now"

Where is your MBA from?

You must be new to Blizzard games...
I'll assume the silence means University of Phoenix.
