I just downloaded the client for the 14 day free trial. But when I start Eve it will give me the splash screen, and then it turns white. I can hear music and background noise, but I cant see anything.

Secondly, I hope someone can help me here, its kind of retarded that the official website's forums require you make a character to post. Hope I can play soon.

What type of graphics card do you have? a friend of mine had the same problem and that was cause he didnt have updated drivers for his.(his card is really OLD). u can also mail ccp and ask for help from eve-online.com
If pitbulls could lock their jaw the first pitbull would still be hanging on
Its a crap one too, Nvidia Geforce4 MX. I dont think they have many or any updates for it.
just send them a message from the eve-online.com, just go to support link there! the game does support your graphics card. hope you find out what the problem is cause this game is really one of a kind.

they are slow or something. I hope they reimburce me for the lost game time. I only have the trial version, but I want to be able to test for atleast 2 weeks.
that shouldnt be a problem, all you need is to get a new trial key
If pitbulls could lock their jaw the first pitbull would still be hanging on
2 days and nothing I WANNA PLAY!
Ok, so you downloaded the drivers, but did you manage to install them?
What about your color depth, maybe using 32-bit colors in your desktop helps?...do you have up to date directx? (9.0c)? your initial post just seems so non computer literal i had to ask
edit: saw your screenshot, so it seems you do know something about computers and even have some games...duh
heh u could say that. ( I do work for a computer repair shop)
Anyway I may not have directx 9c. Any links to where I could get it.
yep I have it, just did a dxdiag. I dont know what the problem is. But CCP did respond, Im sending them some info now.
Well I got it workign but I cant download the patch!
I have version 1.26.1618 (the trial client version) but I cant download the patch cause I get an error.
you have to manually download the patch from thier website, the game patcher never works.
well what one do I download? I downloaded the 200mb one and it said I was using the wrong version. I cant seem to find one that says my version on it.
What version you have?
Well I downloaded the client they offered me when I registered for the trial account, I assumed that was hte ful version.
Yes, it should be version 3550? I had no troubles using the autopatch function in the client. What stops you for using it, what error it gives? Disable firewall etc if it keeps giving error...
Hey , the game is NOT the 200MB, thats the PATCH from to first version -> current. You need the FULL client which is mucj bigger, get it from here: http://www.eve-online.com/download/
I cant download it
Everytime I get to a certain point after about an hour into it and it freezes up!
This is annoying.
ok do you have dial up or dsl or what? you should be able to download the full client which should be 2.06.3550, and if your having trouble d/l ing it try bit torrent or a download manager. other than that i dont know what to tell you. oh also, you can go to nvidia.com and get the 77.72 driver update for you video card. just click "Download drivers" then "graphics drivers", "geforce or tnt2", then what type of windows you are using, its fairly simple. just uninstall the old ones, restart your comp and install the new ones. (if thats the problem)
This is actually quite funny, for this guy to have so much trouble. He has used so much time to troubleshoot something so simple, as to download the game, install it, and play This cant be this difficult, i saw your screenshot, and it contains so many games, so you should already know about keeping your drivers current, using download managers, and how to patch the games etc...at least thats what image i got from your "chaotic" gamerz desktop
well the thing is I somehow got directed to download a older version of Eve. So really I just wasnt sure that they provided the full updated version until a GM asked if I had it.
it seems most online games require this
i think it prevents a lot of flame wars and ninja recruiting for other games
it is a great game where you can just about play any way that you want (but please - don't be a pirate - there are enough of those thank-you) - heres hoping you can get started on your adventure
