Considering there will be working server emulators in the next 6-9 months, I think there will be plenty of room for pirating.  It's only the impatient ones that will buy it.

I only plan on playing single player on one character through normal.  After that I'll be using it coop.  I was certainly annoyed at not being able to play at times the first day, but it's already vastly improved.

Depends on what is handled by the server and if there will be any major server software leaks, mmos do even damage calculations server side and it can take years to make that kind of system work half way accurately without leaks.

(With that said, if the server just stores the character and randomizes the maps and drops, it will take less than 6 months :) )

    Just saying.

    Flame on!

It's like "OMG, I have to be on-line to play D3? No way! Screw you Blizz you greedy bastards! I'm going to go play Rift/Terra/Tor/Eve/Wow/LoTRO/etc. instead...." lol Teh Irony!!

Yes.... because no one here does anything besides play MMO's....

No but you do play them and are used to the fact that being on-line is a requirement to playing those games. Thus, why is it such a HORRIBLE thing that OMFG I have to be on-line to play D3? I was making the assumption that people that frequent this site are MMO players and being on-line to play is second nature to them. No issue, no problem.

Yes, server problems suck. They need to sort that out ASAP, but it is not, IMO, reason to bash a game like I've seen done.

No, for some reason I'm not used to them yet. Let me think.....

Skyrim.... nope server didn't keep crashing on me there.

Kingdom of Amular.... nope no server crashes there.

Might and Magic....... hmm, nope no server crashes there.

The Witcher 2...... hmm, not there either.

I can't think of another single player game that had servers that keep crashing keeping me from playing.

Or are you really just trying to compare D3 with MMO's and not games in it's actual category?

And yes lol, this alone would be plenty of reason to bash the game. It's a single player game with multiplayer elements, it's not remotely close to being an MMO, yet people are forced to suffer through MMO beta issues after the launch of a single player game.

With the online only thing being something complained about long before launch you have to kind of expect the backlash when peoples fears about online only for a single player game are realized.
