I have an existing account i havent touched in years but thinking about coming back. Is there anyway to put the existing account on a trial or would i have to start a brand new account/character in order to obtain a trial?

Unfortunately you are only able to get a free trial with a brand new account. The only option to reactivate your old account is via resub, timecode or PLEX.
On a side note I have plently of invites to giveaway. If anyone wants one, feel free to send me a PM with your e-mail. In case you decide to subscribe I am offering half of the PLEX value - so 250M ISK.
