If i had to choice from that list i would say RS
Runescape sucks 3d. Tibia is above decent 2d.
Just try to pay some intrests into Tibia. And anyone would like it, atleast, if you are into deep and intresting gameplay and political involvement with a world ruled by a bunch of aristocrats
ADDED - And to tell you a bit more, Tibia is one of the 'hardest' mmorpgs, no doubt. It takes a long time to level up and there is no level limit. If you die you lose some of your work by losing experience and skills you will also lose equipments in the early levels untill you can efford magical necklaces which prevent dropping at death and are expensive 1 quantiny per necky. There are about 5 Capital cities and a very few small ones.
You start out on rook as a noob untill level 8 by visiting the 'oralce' you are premmited to venture in the next island called the 'mainland' or you can stay and level up higher if you desire, A visit at lvl 8 at the Oracle and it will summon you to mainland (in Mainland is where the 5 capitals are - rook is bassicly also 1 capital but not eligible to visit once you entered the main land). You will notice alot of corrupted people and pkers once you arrived there. the first 22 more levels will be a hell (untill 30), then you have standing a little but a bit atleast. Being lv 8 or around you find yourself often being attacked be other players above your strength, pissing them off will only make them mad and kill you over and over.
You MUST be nice to high lvled players bassicly, otherwise they can kill you in an instance if they wanted.
Tibia LeVel overall
Level 1 - 10 is considered Ultra noob
Level 10 - 20 is considered Noob
Level 20 - 30 is considered 'if its a bitch its a fly to kill' and also newb/noob
Level 30 - 40 this is when you are getting a bit stronger and be able to hunt tougher creatures worthy your time
Level 40-50 Should be considered a normal 'veteran' level
Level 50-60 Should also be considered a normal 'veteran level'
Level 60-70 This should be called 'hardcore player' - You are gaining alot of power now, and strength, you can hunt about anything except for a.. few things and should u have the second best equipments from the game
Level 70-80 You are a higher lvled player , you can hunt anything, do anything you want, kill anyone you like, and spit on the people you despite or stab them
80+ You are above almost all.
100+ You are almost a god
120+ You are an superb 'something'
200+ you are the strongest from the 1 million subscribers
no.. otherway i can discribe this
hard one....i'd have to go with runescape, but i would avoid Tibia if i were you. its the worst mmorpg ever made imo. the graphics are below acceptable. you don't even see your char attacks a mob. the gameplay is worse...click on the name of the mob (this appears in a window, so you don't even have to click on the actual mob) and wait...all you have to do. the game is pretty hard, high death penalty. there is playerhousing, but only for premium members (those who p2p). my advice: avoid!
p.s.:there are no 1 million subscribers. i'm amazed if they make it to 100k subscribers
dont be so negative, gameloading. You're just one of the people who miss see's the oppertunity and gameplay tibia has to offer. Runescape sucks.
To be honest. I dont know if Rune Scape is any good, i have played it to less, but atleast im not so ignorant as you to draw.. a conclusion that quickly. to me it seems you havent fully experienced tibia or you would say more then just that rhrmlabla
Tibia most definately. Its a great mmorpg to start on, you just have to get used to open PvP. Runescape is for generally for younger children.
Tibia has alot of ideas I would like to see in 3d mmos. Like the skill based system, towns, and rune idea. If you have any questions about Tibia just ask.
Don't let rookgaard (the place you start in) turn you off about the game, just stick it out to level 8, go train your skills or magic level when in mainland, then have some fun. Try to make friends, makes it alot esier. Also the lack of sound may be annoying at first, but just listen to some music while you play.
Why would anyone name a game after their shin bone?
I suppose it's no worse than naming a game Mourning and wanting people to be happy playing it....
Well i play tibia and i played runescape
tibia has nice 2d graphix while runescape only has some wierd 2,5d or 3d gfx
tibia is harder then runescape this makes tibia more challanging
and there are worlds with no pvp so u won't get pk'ed,the chance of being looted is greater by this
overal tibia and runescape are both decent mmorpgs runescape is more popular because its easier to play
all who plays/played tibia give me a pm i would like to share some stories and such
I have played both.. and in my opion runescape is the better game although the graphics can be harsh to look at some times, i suppose you get used it after a while, even with the graphics i would choose runescape
its constantly updated and all the skills are great fun.. ( very time consuming ). With tibia i find it hard to play with the 2d dont no why.
hey you never no they might update the graphics then it would own.
Blah blah blah.
I've played neither and whenever I see 'Tibia' mentioned I crack up at the fact it's named after a part of the body and get a mental image of One (lower leg) Bone To Rule Them All... Amusement factor alone would swing it that way for me
Well the name doesn't matter that much
and its updated quite much, the gfx improve with every update but the 2d view stays wich is not bad
cause it has its own charm i think
I played both. And Runescape is much better then Tibia.
Runescape has very funny skills. Its getting better every update. The quests are really great.
(i did 1 of the hardest 1s. i played for about 8 months. i stopped when my frends stopt playing.)
But ya need a little bit of good memory and gotta be a little good at riddles for the game.
But keep GAMING
I haven't played Tibia in forever, I didn't like it much when I tried it but that was a long time ago.
As for RuneScape, my criticism is that it utterly fails to support any kind of community.
There aren't any classes, so you can't make an effective team out of players. You're all just damage-dealers that have to share loot. And in general, being a good damage-dealer on Runescape means having a good melee weapon and 70 ranged, so you can wear Black Dragonhide armor, which is as good against melee as the third best armor (Adamantine) and basically immune to magic. Along with the fact that there are no classes, there isn't any real reason for players to cooperate. Everyone can be a master fisher/fletcher/cook/smith/miner/woodcutter/etc.
They've been trying to fix that combat system since RuneScape 2 came out and things are still hinky. Before that, it was "pures", people who exploited the fact that armor and defense were basically non-issues. So you could raise your weapon skill (attack) to 40 to equip a good weapon and raise your strength massively. The combat-level calculation made it so people with that set up were able to attack players with defense at much lower levels. Its basically been broken since I joined.
There isn't team/clan/guild support at all. If you have friends you want to play with, you have to painstakingly gather them all on one server with everyone only able to private-message one other person at a time. You can't set a loot order. Instead, they've been adding co-op minigames.
Any RuneScape website is, at best, tolerated. And usually suspected of being a scam site. You don't see the devs visiting player communities or giving interviews. You can't mention a website in game, so recruiting is harder.
In short, there is a giant hole where the social game features should be.
Also, I don't know where the mid-game is going. The end-game is all about grinding. You need to about 6,500,000 experience in a skill to get level 94 and about 13,000,000 to hit the cap, at which point there usually isn't a neat level 99 item to make.
They came out with this "Dragon" metal, which is all rare drops, except for the weapons which can be bought for around 1-2 hundred thousand coins. Meanwhile, the armor pieces are all hyper-rare drops. So you either have to camp unto the end of time or pay millions for armor that only has moderately higher ACs and yet is thousands of times more expensive than "Runite". There are also these Barrow sets, but they require repair from NPCs on a regular basis while everything else is basically permanent.
Do yourself a favor and don't play either one.
guys, runescape sucks and i'll know it because I was lvl 85 in the game, now i know it was just waste of my time. graphics suck, gameplay sucks, more then 3 years out or longer so no competition anymore, many servers, and they'll expect u'll pay $5 every month too have more features!!!
it sucks, don't know tibia but if it is 2d, i'll advice u another mmorpg like guild wars (or kalonline=free)
I would have to say tibia ive played it for about 2 years very addicting runescape is a junky game. I lost my account and doing rook really sucks but after that it rocks and well worth it but very timeconsuming and addicting.
