    Ok.. here goes...

First... sorry you are having a crappy day. Even more sorry that you had to run into this jerk... However... that is "the" game. That is why I usually tell people who want to start all the ins and outs before they start. Some people say it is fun.. others.. not so much.

When I was lvling up I was pk'd 4 times. 3 times by the same character... a character called EvilSeed. I have to say, it gave me fuel to lvl up fast. I never did get my "revenge" (in truth the guy who played the character was a good guy so I never held a "real" grudge) but I did get to wipe the floor with an EvilSeed wannabe who thought that I was lower lvl than I really was. I was outside one of the lower lvl cities talking with a clan mate and he starts attacking me. Even his healer couldn't help him. That was a great day.

One of the best times I had (though it was only after I realized it was a good time) was when I was lower lvl outside of Dark Elf Village. There was a red there at the west entrance, ganking everyone. I had to sneak around and try to find a save way where he couldnl't see me. Ended up being the most fun in a while. Sure.. not very heroic or honorable but it was a good time.

The reason that that won't be the end of the game is that most people understand that this is a brutal, open pvp/pk game. Sure.. it can suck.. don't get me wrong.

But maybe if you were to sneak around this guy you will be able to enjoy some lvling.

    Good luck.

Another option would be to post on the L2 forums of whatever server your on. Tell them that such'n'such is giving the noobs a hard time. There are plenty of high level players who woulld be willing to sweep the area out if its a chronic problem.
But the above suggestion of sneaking around and hoping he doesnt notice you is more fun.
Also keep in mind that if you see him you can just log out. As long as your not in "combat mode" you can log out, and avoid him.

Yup, do what spooky said, might help. Also, this is what guilds are for. And you can always start a character in a different n00by town if he's ruining all the fun where you are. It's the nature of open PvP: some bedwetter is always going to have fun doing nothing other than ruining other peoples fun. Satan will have his way with him.

On the other hand. I am really enjoying the amound of Tunics there are available for The mystics. so much more diversity then fighters its a breath of fresh air. I can actually be proud of my char's looks. Also the dreary colors of the DE's gets sorta old. I'm also enjoying the more cheerful human textures image But i wounder... For spells, I realize im still only level 11, but thats a lot of hours of using the same two spells... In the twenty's is there more diversity in the spells... like 5 or 6 spells that your trying to time into the battle at the right moments with the right monsters... Thats when things really get fun image

Though I'm sure there are some new spells, but basically you'll probably just use the same spells with different ranks when you're high enough. E.g. WoW

Are there some cool mid level spells that are like really big graphically. n then your like ooo aahhh that was amazing in aww
  • SovrathSovrath Member LegendaryPosts: 32,984

There are other spells but some of them are just more advanced versions of what you have with slightly different graphics.

Some of them you will never use until that one "special" circumstance.

For instance, Tempest. Tempest is an AOE wind attack that does "ok" damage but you never really will find a use for it at higher lvls (which is when you get it). However... now that they have small groups of 1/2 hitpoint mobs it is possible to use this on them and get a decent amount of experience. The now popular AOE parties (where they gather up every mob in the surrounding area so that 2 or 3 mages can AOE them) rely on these AOE spells.

There are also high power attack spells that are supposed to be used by several mages of different races, in tandem. But I don't beleive anyone has ever used them.

Is it at least more diverse in the number of spells you use compared to an archers abilities? There should be some bit of drasticness between the two in this manner  just because its the way it should be, lolimage  what should i be looking forward to as a future sorceror
  • SovrathSovrath Member LegendaryPosts: 32,984

I feel you should go to the main game forums and ask other sorcerors. Sorcerors are generally desired in AOE parties (Area of effect) and do well at higher lvls in pvp.

However, as my main is a Spellhowler, I can't really go into the details of a Sorceror. I assume you have the game and can post on the main forums.

So wrong.  I'm only guessing that you never got past level 20 when playing?  If you try to go past 20 and beyond only using your first set of spells, you're in for a rude awakening.  Once you change classes you get new sets of spells to use and the old ones dont really go up in power from there.

my advice to someone that encounters a griefer...

never complain that you got pked...the reason why people pk is cuz they bored with killing mobs...so you want to act as close to a regular mob as possible...the more you cry...the more they enjoy what they are doing...if you say nothing...they will get bored with you quickly and move on to a more responsive victim

another thing you can do is go and play an alt for awhile...for example u need a dwarf for making extra money...so if someone griefing you in ruins of despair...log out without sayin a word...go play dwarf for an hour...by the time you come back...chances are he would have moved on...

the one thing i never understand is people screaming...im gonna kill you at someone clearly stronger...and continuously getting delevelled...when you are higher you will have plenty of opportunity to vent your anger
so dont say a word...not even a friendly word...just log...play an alt...and come back later
