2 questions for "future"

AnofalyeAnofalye Member, Newbie CommonPosts: 7,433

1- Hamidons HOs, what is exactly the plan in the future, they remain like they are now (slightly nerfed)? They are finished and completely nerfed?  They are restored? They are dilluated because others sources of HOs are available? Please explain.

2- PvP, will it have ANY impact on the PvE?  Like making you any better or any worser?

PS: I want to see if non-raiders and non-PvPers will be shafted in the future, seem to be a MMO fashion.

Well according to Statesman they plan on upping the max level in the future so as for the Current HO's they would be able to be outleveled.  As far as PvP the only way I can think of it impacting PvE is with COV and COH combined if you have both of them, there will be items of power that give a Super Group a temporary power as long as your base has the item, the raids will have to be scheduled and only one per day so a SG won't have to defend their base constantly.  Other than that there has been no mention of PvP giving better items to players other than arena badges.

Nothing in this game is ever "done" being nerfed. every few weeks they come up with something that isnt right and nerf it.  The HOs are prolly not gonna get nerfed again soon because few people even raid anymore and with the nerf coming to controllers it will be even less raids.

They have been pretty consistant saying that PvP will not effect PvE, in that engaging in it will not give PvE benefits.  there will be items of power, ut i dont yet know exactly what they will be pr do, but they will be PvP related.

I really wanna know what those "items of power" will be changing before I consider buying it or not. I want full details, I dont trust them anymore. Last time I trust them, they bring up HOs.

New levels = efficient Hamidon removal...however, what is awaiting me if I gain all those levels?  Hamidon 2.0? I want more info before I consider CoV, how those special enhancements will be awarded at the new level cap? In a raid? In PvP? In TF? How?

ATM CoV is in the "I will pass" box. Until further clarifications. I dont mind waiting 5 months AFTER it is live if it needs that for me to get those answers, I am not buying the game without proper answers.

For the nerfs, I understand how you feel, I play regen and broadsword...which is the AT who suffer the most nerfs (the goal of a regen/BS is to solo big target, which is plainly impossible now, thereby we have no goal of even existing, should at least have some range damage rather then be the masterlame), and everytime they nerf solo, we are the most directly hitted by the solo nerf.

Theres a nerf coming to controllers?? ::::21:: What would that be.
Some of these adjustments they make are so inconsistant. They change how movement powers work because they dont want blasters using hit-and-run tactics, because "theres no risk involved", or some such. And yet a tank can herd up every mob in a mission and a whole team can fight without risk. First time I saw that I was thankfull I quit playing a controller - how utterly pointless.

I used to have a lot of respect for the kids at Cryptic. But now I'm not sure what to think. They dont seem to know whether they're comin' or goin'.

Only one spawn of pets out at a time, shortened AoE power durations and increased recharge a bit. Double damage while an enemy is mezzed is nice, though.
Tanks shouldn't be able to herd to the extent you're describing in I5, though.

Right now, there is basically no PvP. You will be lucky to find one Arena fight going on, unless you ask someone to set one up. I dont think there has ever been an SG fight on the protector server :/

PvP Has no impact on PvE whatsoever, it is strictly limited inside of the arena. Your powers are different when inside the arena, but are normal outside of it.

HO's are at the SO lvl, 30%... The only good thing about them now is the fact that they give 2-3 Power Enhancements in one HO. Im doubt they will do anything else to them and right now, the only way to get them is by raiding Hammy (besides trading other Hero's)

Also, there is only one raid that people are able to do, and it is quite boring now. So this game is definitly not focused on raiding neither is it focused on PvP. Its mostly a PvE game

    hope this helps

EDIT: about CoV + CoH... you can stay in the PvE zones if you want or you can fight in the 4 PvP only zones. There is no PvE in the PvP zones, and visa versa (i haven't played beta yet, so this might not be 100% true, but i know for sure there wont be PvE in the PvP zones)

The pet nerf that was mentioned will not affect hammi raids really, since no one wants you to have your pets out then because of lag issues.  however one of the main phases in raiding is to hold hamidon, with I5 they have cut the durations and increased recharges times of holds, meaning we will need far more controllers to get it done, many times we didnt have enough controllers already.

    1.  They haven't said anything about Hamidon HO's since they gave them the same bonus as SOs.  They most likely wont make any more changes to them for a while.  They need to see how the current changes work out.

    2.  PVP will have no effect on PVE.  There will be missions in the PVP zones but you don't have to take them.

    3.  They can't give any information on CoV because it is still in the early stages of Beta testing.  They might still make major changes to the game.  Any information they have now could change at any time.  It is supposed to release in November so you'll have to wait till closer to then for reliable information.

Well, thanks all for the info.

If PvP gives stuff that help inside PvE, or if raiding give better rewards, I would pass on the game...so I will stay tuned and wait, as everything is possible and I would not dare to say I know which way they are heading.

(And yes, my questions are CoV oriented)

New levels are definitely a good thing, I wish we would get 10 new levels every 6 months and be clearly advertised (or 5 levels every 3 months, would be even better...or maybe a level per 18 days or something...hehe).

They have stated that PvP will not effect PvP.

Raids will always give better rewards, it's like that in every MMO.  It's to reward people for taking the time and effert to set up and conduct a raid.

This is an MMO not a single player game, they do expect you to group occasionaly.  No MMO is designed for pure solo play.  They try to give content that will apeal to all types of players.  If everything in the game could be soloed almost no one would group and that would drive off a large part of the players.
