Rift class question

MMOman101MMOman101 Member UncommonPosts: 1,787

I played Rift for a hot minute months ago.  I decided to start playing the free to level 20 version and noticed that things are not as I remember.  It seems like I am given 3 classes instead of picking them.  Is that they way the game is now or is it just to try and make the game easier for new people?

Have they taken out the choice?

“It's unwise to pay too much, but it's worse to pay too little. When you pay too much, you lose a little money - that's all. When you pay too little, you sometimes lose everything, because the thing you bought was incapable of doing the thing it was bought to do. The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot - it can't be done. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.”

it's to make it easier for new people.  you can still purchase new souls in the city.

You use to do quests where you'd have to close a Rift to get a token that unlocked a new skill tree but now you purchase those trees from your trainer for a trivial amount of money.
