Well, at least that's what everyone is saying at the moment in korea...
I'm korean, so I was just wondering if anyone else besides me in the states would actually close-beta and beta test these games?
There is a new gameplay vid of Granado Espada, and I've gotta say the "action" (character motion) part of the game looks really nice... ( trailer at official US site http://ge.hanbiton.com/en/index.htm)
Zera on the other hand...hum...I saw the actual gameplay vid but it don't look to great, but the official site flash vids look pretty darn good. ( http://zera.nexon.com/zera/Teaser/teaser.html )
Anyways these two games are basically the main hype in korea...at least for now...+ Zera is by Nexon, and was in development in secret for 3years until official advertisement site was released on June 4th. Granado Espada on the otherhand has been hyped for some time now... *vid looks very promising*
*Bah, I'm actually waiting on RO2 anyways...I really enjoyed the crazy amount of different items they had in 1, and the character stat customization was infinite. *
GRIND sucks? You wanna be max level in a month?
Since when did society award easy-goers and lazy-fools?
MAKES ME PHOBIC OF STUPIDITY!

I watched the Zera video, looks pretty dam good. Graphics looked great and the gameplay seemed smooth and fast paced. I would definitely play it if I got the chance.
Granado Espada I don't like, I don't care for the setting.
Do you know when the EU version for Zera will be out?
i think the game is still in close beta in Korea, been that the game was keept secret for 3 years i would say to expect a US release by 1st quarter of 2006. That is if they do bring the game to the US. Look how long it took for RF online to get the go ahead.

Two very very different games.
ATM I have more hopes in Zera for three reasons. This is ofcourse, in a NA context.
1. Game Mechanices
With GE..the new systems they're trying (controlling multiple characters, hiring NPCs etc) are exciting and I'm glad they're trying to do something new with the MMo genre. Zera on the other hand seems to be going the 'tried and true' route, taking the better aspects of existing games like WoW and GW and making it their own. I guess in this case, ZerA is the 'safer' choice, not necessarily better. I'd have to try GE out to see.
2. Graphics
I love the graphics in both, and GE's setting is unusual which is refreshing. However I don't think GE's graphics suit western tastes.. Koreans and Japanese people have a fetish for 18th century French culture that most people in NA do not share. (Personally I love the poofy skirts)
3. Marketing
I want to know how the hell they're gonna market a game called Granado Espada. After reading about it plenty of times I still couldn't get the name right ..had to look at the topic title lol.. let alone know what the hell it means. And whoever did the English for their English site did a pretty terrible job IMO.
Hopefully Nexon will get smarter with marketing Zera and outsource it.
I'm actually looking forward to SUN more than the above two. ZerA's been promising so far though, as far as I've tested. ^.^
MMO Fav List:
Lineage 2 | 5x Silver Ranger, 7x Shillien Elder <- Active
WoW | 6x Rogue, 1x Priest
Anarchy Online | 8x MetaPhysicist
Saga of Ryzom | Matis Light Armourer
Waiting for: Age of Conan, Lineage 3
What is up with human nature that compels people to constant pit one game against another?
i see you are testing zera, could you share any information about the game? is it a grind like lineage RF is? thanks in advance

RISING DRAGOON ~AION US ONLINE LEGION for Elyos
I can't tell which is more sexy, the woman or the legion of minions at your command. $_$
I like Granado Espada.Don't know why exactly-setting,original concept(but I'm still not sure about MCC).Zera looks more traditional IMO,smth like Guild Wars or another grind game, but I may say this because I don't know much about it.

I agree. The Granado Espada theme is very interesting, and the different game mechanics certainly give it some added heft. While they may be pretty common features in console rpgs, they'll be a much needed change of pace in the MMO field. Really, though, it's all about the unusual setting for me. Playing a character that could've stepped out of the Count of Monte Cristo just seems so refreshing when faced with the endless masses of elf'n'dwarf fantasy clones.
I know zilch about Zera, but based on the screenshots I've seen so far it does seem to have great potential.
As for Granado Espada...it's being developed by Kim Hakkyu and his boys (the creativity core of RO1 but they quit before it went p2p). This is one of the very few MMOs that I highly anticipate as I have complete faith in Hakkyu's ability to produce an ass-kicking game.
In the end I will most likely try both but my money's on GE.
Somehow this reminds me of a certain game except all the girls were dancing...
gah, why do they feel the need to put all the text on their website in an image?

french, portuguse, spanish, romanian, italian all sprang up from latin
and Grande espada in spanish means sword big
so Iam assuming it mean sword big in french or latin (Big Sword)
