virus on forums?

svannsvann Member RarePosts: 2,230

I havent played for a while but I still check the official forums.  Chrome keeps warning me of malware when I try to click on one thread.

"Soul imbued warblade / cog / soul force Thanks but no Thanks"

Is this a valid warning?  Its been doing that for several days now.

I have no issues on the forums.
Maybe scan your own PC to see if the problem is you?

Oh, I scan my pc plenty.  Its also just that one thread that I mentioned.  Have you read that one lately?  Maybe Ill check with a different browser.  I normally just use chrome but I also have firefox and ie.

update: Maybe it is just me.

    Chrome: warns

Firefox: took very long to connect.  after several tries it went through

IE9: also took very long to connect but eventually went through.

I believe Im clean.  Using Eset virus/firewall security, and adaware and spybot.  Maybe a modem problem?

Or: the warning message is "forums.station.sony.com contains content from www.digital-it.nl, a site known to distribute malware. Your computer might catch a virus if you visit this site."  Could be chrome is overly-cautious?

You could have something like (or perhaps acts like) incredibar and let you surf through a proxy. For instance incredibar are in some cases distributed through freeware software and if you miss to unclick the box when installing you agreed to it.

Perhaps you have something similar to if not incredibar?

I'm so broke. I can't even pay attention.
