Frogster releases the Nexus! Then Servers explode !
For those that don't know, Frogster turned on the Nexus events today for EU-Tera. But it has been a mitigated disaster. The servers pretty much exploded after they turned the event on.
All characters on some servers are frozen and can't log on or out.

Some servers have faired better but experiencing massive lag with up to 5 second delays on abilities. Most can't complete quests or do anything.

The sad part is this has been going on for hours and still no reply from Frogster...:(
If the nexus event is this bad, no wonder it has been delayed in NA.

You mean on the beta server right? Not live servers?
Reading the thread, appears to be on the live servers.
I seem to recall the Nexus being tested in NA CB4 however I wasn't high enough level (had to be at least 11) and missed it. What I recall was players complaining bitterly about lag, but it seemed to be localized to only those in that area, on the noob island things were pretty normal.

No, they activated Nexus to test them on live servers, on a friday evening. They do not have / do not use test servers.
lol if that is true. They would have some kind of internal ethernet network but the difference between that and a standard live server is pretty huge in terms of performace, any idiot that did IT in high school knows that.
Actually the test server sometimes appears on the server list that I wrote. What makes you think it doesn't exist?
Everything I wrote was related to Nexus testing and this has been done, for whatever reasons, on live servers.
I took part in that event.
The lag was horrible and many times the mobs were "invisible" to me.
and I have a pretty decent machine which begs the question "waht type of machine does one need? I saw some video footage from other players and it looked great without lag.
Or perhaps the issues are hardware specific?
