14 day trial. Worst trial ever?

I decided to give this game a try now with the 14 day trial seeing how it looks pretty interesting and fun. First of all it takes me more than 2 days to download the 47mb installer, had a dl of 7kb/s with my 10/10mbps broadband connection. Seeing how I thought it was just bad luck I tried today again and managed to download it with around 50kb/s which was a bit better.
Now when Im trying to update the game using this its so extremely slow it will probly take several days of constant updating. there is 34965 files to download with a total size of 1.9gb and right now im downloading with a speed of 5-8kb/s which is just horrible.
Anyone got any idea what to do to fix this or is there nothing to do about it? As it is right now its just horrible, very bad approach, I already hate the company without even getting to play the game.

I was able to downloadthe game and all of the patches in just a few hours. I have a 6mbps connection and was averaging around 300-400kbps.
I am not sure why yours went so slow
For me to download the entire game and patch it fully took me just under 3 hours. I have 2.5mb DSL and was getting speeds of 270kb/s which is my maximum.
By chance are you from England trying to patch it to North America? Or vice-versa? Inexplicable why you got that slow of a speed but it isn't the company, it's something to do with you.
The REAL problem is that you are basically downloading the entire game, AND every patch since release, just for a 14 day trial period. It's tha same with EQ2. They should have made a stand alone trial version, severely cut down, limited to just a starter island and tutorial.
The purpose of ANY game trial is to advertise a game that is struggling to get NEW subs. They should make it as easy as possible to first get into the game, so that you don't get jaded BEFORE you even play.
That being said though, you should get a better download speed than that. Depends where you live, and where the DL is coming from and what time it is when you are DLing. Best thing is just leave your comp on until it has fully patched. And then you'll have the WHOLE game, up to date, if you DO decide to stay.
Erm i do live in europe but the slow DL cant be because of that. I have downloaded several demos ( ranging from 400-1.6gb) , a few MMORPG's ( COH, WoW, UO, SB) and Video clips for example and I have never before had as slow DL as I have when Im DLing this game. My DL speed is about 7-15kb/s and that is way to slow even if I would live really far away.
As it is right now I have had this patcher program running for around 12 hours and so far ive downloaded around 170mb out of 1.9gb which means this would take me around 5 days to fully download which is just crazy. Is there no mirrors on the net where I can get the full game ( not the patcher thing) so i can hopefully finish my dl before the trial offers is being removed.

Finduilas: A limited trial version? Great...so when you actually decide you like the game and subscribe, THEN you have to download the 2GB? Why not just get it over with.
Thanks but I just found it on gamershell.com which I find alot better than fileplanet ( lots of mirrors and no p2p for fast downloads). Downloading it right now so hopefully I will be able to play it tomorrow.
