I found this to be an interesting topic over at the Official forums.

Are the players that are un-subbing to blame for SWTOR's failure?

Cleary its their fault...sure cant be Biowares...nope, they only made the game people are leaving.

Made me laugh, bound to be our fault that we save our hard earnt money or spend it elsewhere...In fact I'd rather open my window and throw it out than invest it in their failed morp...

Now that is a funny thread. It's up there with the other thread where some guy is asking everyone to be patient with Bioware while naming off all the flaws, admitting Bioware are amateurs and made a lot of mistakes, and shortcomings of the game, and the poor guy seemed sincerely to love Bioware anyways, and still support them, lol.

Well problem #1 is the meshing of types of games isn't done in a way that is good for retention.

    #2 - People left because of #1

#3 - BW denied that people were leaving.

#4 - Can't merge servers, because their was no need , due to #3

#5 - Now they admit people are leaving, they say not as many as people know have left. So still no need for merges.

#6 - They now have super server technology they are unleashing, which keeps them from admiting the need to merge, they are now offering a unneeded benefit, to enhance the game...Not because the servers needed merged.

They are just in denial, if you admit a weakness, it becomes reality, if you deny it and lie, then you can keep spinning things....Someone on here had it best with the old Iraq information minister or whatever his title was that would go on the air and say how Iraq was winning the war....Say it enough and it has to be true...right?

I mean, some of the fans on here seem to be buying into it still, but most have even come around to seeing it...Would it of hurt them to swallow their pride, and prepared for server merges 2-3 months ago?  They may not of lost all the people they did and still are, due to that.  They will lose enough, due to the game, but it is silly for them to lose subs due to population, which is something they can control (they control the game, but I look at it as it is what it is....It would take a TOR NGE, and no guarantee that would work to change it).

I'm am (was) on The Fatman. Population wasn't an issue. I solo'd my way to 50 anyways.

I left because of the press releases.

I left because EAware literally believes that YOU, the customer, are stupid and will believe anything you are told.

They are arrogant and in denial. Why would I support that?

But, I would like to understand the logic behind that charge, that it's the players unsubbing who is to blame for SWTOR's failure.

Players are leaving because players are leaving...

Isn't that a logical fallacy of infinite causality?

This isn't directed at the OP, but I find it funny that rabid fanbois think it is the fault of other players that SWTOR is tanking.

EA/Biofail is to blame for players unsubbing because their product is a piece of over-hyped garbage and their attitude towards customers is atrocious.

I can sum it up further.

I loved the title of the thread, "How Un-subbing Doesn't Help Population".

Given that they've banned from official SWTOR.com forums nearly everyone who isn't:

    - die-hard Bioware fanboys who, if Bioware burnt down their house at 8AM, would praise the company for being punctual

    - EAware paid shills whose job it is to deflect blame away from the company at all costs

There are no voices to balance the marketing spam that is on those forums.

Dissenters have been harassed, slandered and purged so the two aforementioned groups can write all the tripe they want without fear of being contradicted with the truth:

The only reason for SWTOR's death is the incompetence and dishonesty of EAware lead devs.

The players are not to blame.
