SBFordSBFord Former Associate EditorMember LegendaryPosts: 33,129

The team being 8BitMMO have announced that a brand new and quite large update has been deployed for its flagship title. According to the press release, the patch brings new content and features on board.

  • New Playable Race: Zombies -- Become a zombie and nom on your friends. It's infectiously fun!

  • The MegaMap -- Browse the massive world through a familiar web map interface.

  • Player Trading -- Trade items and gold with other players.

  • More Control of your City -- Limit access to your town with town doors and grant trusted player citizens more power by making them 'Town Officials.'

  • Player Customization -- Change player color and wear shirts, accessories, and hats.

Get started playing on the 8BitMMO site.

I really don't get why big game studios don't seem to be paying attention to the increasing demand for games like 8bitmmo, Minecraft, Terraria, and all of the other sandbox games on the market.

Would be awesome to get a minecraft clone with proper 3d graphics instead of just squares LOL..

Played this for a few hours last night along with NEStalgia. Good to play simple games like this every now and then. I think I got into a kick like this last year with Realm of the Mad God. It doesn't always have to be about complex mechanics and system bursting graphics as long as the fun is there.

The day they get it, they will get it wrong, for sure.

Main reason is it costs these big name devs so much to make a title that they arew scared to try anything new. If it wasn't for indie devs we'd be stuck with garbage like call of duty 9000 and shit like that.

Being a pessimist is a win-win pattern of thinking. If you're a pessimist (I'll admit that I am!) you're either:

    A. Proven right (if something bad happens)

    or

    B. Pleasantly surprised (if something good happens)

Either way, you can't lose! Try it out sometime!
