I want to play this game and I heard it was free to play right now, but I want to know do I still have to buy a copy to install it or can I download it somewhere else?

I actually bought it digitally on release, and got a link for it then....
When i got a free trial however i couldn't find where to download it anywhere, searched for hours,
so i just gave up on it.

Unless I am mistaken the f2p length of the game has ended, so now there is a monthly. Also I believe that they do not have an official download link so you would have to buy it.
i bought it digitally ages ago, and i can not find a link anywhere, i even bought those damn crysta points for a month of sub, just can't download it anywhere

FF14 is not free 2 play.
If you want to play it its $9.00 to buy the game, and $9.00 a month to play it.
If you go on there website you will see its not free 2 play.
Where ever you herd that its free 2 play you should not get your information from there any more.
The game is going to be coming out for the ps3 and a giant relaunch with 2.0 coming up by the end of the year.

Well it is not free but for those of you who bought the game the key should still be attached to your account and there should be a download from your account page.

If I got a used copy of FF14 with no codes will that work?
word of advice..do not d/load this game..even if possible..the d/load rate sux big time for updates..you are better buying it in bargain basement bin atm for a few $'s and installing updates afterwards.been there and done that..it really is shocking d/load rate.game is ok imo,and getting better but wait for patch 2.0.
I got my copy from game stop for $9.00 digital copy.
everywhere else i found it for $19.99
I played the game when it 1st came out and it was bad very bad.
I am playing it now and im loving it. There are a bunch of new players starting. They just added a new advance class like the Dragoon and Bard and so on. There are going to be very big changes comming when the game comes to the ps3 and when 2.0 comes out.

I picked it up from the Square Enix website for $15 and it's downloading now.
I used to play FF11 and wanted to try this one, heard it was a lot better since the failure at launch.
